Mystery Photo #78

The long weekend is upon us (Victoria Day weekend for those of you not from Canada), and it actually looks like Mother Nature might play nice for once.  I sure hope so because I have tons of things I need to get done outside.  My car needs its “after the nasty winter” cleanout, my gardens need some tender loving care, and Mikey wants to plant his veggies. Add to this the fact that I don’t have to go to work for three whole days and can read to my heart’s content means a weekend with the perfect combination of work and play.  Whether it’s a regular weekend or a long weekend for you, I hope that you get to do everything on your “I need to/I want to” list too.  Enjoy everyone :).

Now, what you’ve all been waiting for – the mystery photo!  This is one of those weeks where I don’t think the photo is all that difficult, but I just thought it was a really cool capture.  So, put on your thinking caps and make me proud.  I know you can do it!!  Ok, ready, set, go…..

  11. As a birthday gift to TBM (Happy Birthday this weekend my friend!!!) and an ego boost to everyone else, I did make it a nice easy mystery photo this week. It is a picture of my pretty little red measuring cups, or maybe I should say Mikey’s measuring cups since he does most of the cooking in this house :). Congrats to all of you!!! The mystery photo is making you all very smart :).

  12. close but no cigar as they say–never quite understood this saying–but now I know its wrath

This is completely unrelated to your post (nice photo btw!), but I couldn’t find out how to reply to the comment on Becky’s post. I finished reading Winter of the World a while ago and absolutely loved it!! It’s an extremely well written story, and gives great historical insight into what happened 🙂

    • I couldn’t agree more :). What I really loved was that it gave you the history from different people’s perspectives. For instance, I never really thought of what it was like for the Germans as the war ended and the Russians flooded into their cities. I mean, many of the German citizens did not agree with Hitler at all, but they still suffered so much. The fact that hardly a woman escaped without being raped really disturbed me. He is a great writer that’s for sure! History, drama, suspense, romance, family – he captures it all!
