Three days into my four day long weekend, and I am feeling totally relaxed. There’s nothing better than a long weekend where you get to do multiple things that you enjoy. On Thursday night Bryan arrived home from college, and we enjoyed sitting around the dinner table catching up as a family. Friday was just a day to relax (reading for me and video games for the boys) until Bryan’s girlfriend Cayley arrived, and then we all hit the road to go and see the movie, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, an action packed, good old fun time!
Saturday was a beautiful, sunny day, so we all decided to head outdoors and enjoy the weather. Bryan and Cayley went for a walk, and Mike and I tackled our cars which are generally quite disgusting after a Canadian winter. It always feels so awesome to get that first major cleanup done in the Spring. While we enjoyed Mother Nature’s good mood, Mike’s delectable turkey was cooking inside, and that night we all sat down to an amazing Easter dinner that left us all groaning from eating too much :). After supper, Bryan and Cayley left for their second Easter with her family, and I spent the night relaxing with a good book.
Today we headed out for a visit with Mike’s mom and sister, taking them care packages full of Easter leftovers. We hadn’t seen Mike’s mom since before our trip to South Carolina, so we had some little gifts for them and tons of photos to share with them. After a wonderful homemade turkey noodle soup for dinner tonight, I am now ensconced on the couch anxiously awaiting the season finale of The Walking Dead and the season premiere of Game of Thrones. I can’t wait!! Tomorrow, Mike has to work so the house will be totally quiet (LOL :)), and I am going to work on my editing job and read all day long!! Ahhhhhh!
So, seeing as I am feeling totally relaxed and at peace, I thought I would continue on from the other day and post a photo that creates the same type of feeling. Every morning while we were in South Carolina, Mike and I headed down to the beach first thing to capture the sunrise. Although the actual sunrise is gorgeous, the early morning sunlight hitting the beach shortly after the sunrise can be spectacular as well. Here is one of my favourites that makes me sigh in happiness :). I hope you enjoy it, and I hope that if you are celebrating Easter you are having a great one!
Sooooooo jealous you get tomorrow off as well…. It seems we’ve landed ourselves in the wrong province!!! …. Bummer!!! Your weekend sounds super relaxing!!! We’ve had some great weather as well – a turn to the (much) more favourable!!! 🙂 **
Nah, you didn’t land in the wrong province :). I just happen to work in a law office, and we go by the court holidays. Daniel has the day off school, but most people have to work tomorrow, and all of the stores will be open again. Even Bryan’s college classes are on tomorrow. Glad your weather is getting better too! You will love Canada’s Spring and Summer. They are beautiful :).
Hahaha!! Too bad then (for everyone else in Canada) 😉 !! Can’t wait for summer!! 🙂 **
Me too 🙂
Wow, fandabbytastic! 🙂
I’m jealous of your sun, here in old England we have consistent grey oppressing cloud. *Sigh*.
Fandabbytastic!! Now that’s an awesome word :). I will do my sun dance tonight just for you and try and send some warm sunshine your way ok?
Haha okay! I shall keep my fingers crossed. 😛
OHH MY GOSH YOUR SUNDANCE WORKED. 😛
Yayyyy!! I guess I am becoming magical from all of the fantasy books I read LOL!
Oooooh! A whole day of editing, uninterrupted! A dream come true!
You might be thinking photo editing, but I’m actually editing a book. I do book reviews for a company, but this time they asked me to edit a manuscript. I’ve never done it before, so I’m kind of nervous about it, but I’m pretty picky so mistakes kind of jump out at me LOL!! I’m hoping to organize my photos from down south for a bit tomorrow too though :).
Sounds like a perfect weekend. Beautiful image.
Thanks Edith! Hope your weekend has been great too :).
Sounds like a perfect weekend. Beautiful image.
Love the image and the word image as well… how ell you described a weekend of pure fun and pleasure… lovely…
Thanks Bulldog! It has been a wonderful long weekend, but Mother Nature has decided to end it off with a very cruel April Fool’s Day joke. It is snowing like crazy outside right now!! Boy am I glad I don’t have to drive in it today! I mean, April Fool’s jokes are supposed to be funny, not cruel!! LOL
Winter appears to be putting up a fight with Spring in your part of the world… maybe it’s just a Winter Aprils fool joke…
Well, Winter sure has a nasty sense of humour :). I was outside without a coat on Saturday, and now it’s like a blizzard. No wonder I had a headache all weekend LOL!! That’s gotta be a wicked pressure change!
Beautiful image. Sounded like a great weekend.
Thanks!! It was really nice to have to the break and be able to enjoy it with family :).
Love the relaxing pic, the story of your wonderful weekend. Happy Easter!
……and the relaxing continues today :). Thank goodness I am off today too because it is snowing like crazy outside. Mother Nature has lost her mind again!!!
you paint a lovely picture of a holiday weekend spent with family and food–we can ask no more–my son goes back to school today, but I really enjoyed having him home. We are doing a last load of laundry right now, and will be making one more trip to the grocery store before he goes back to face more projects and exams. Enjoy your Easter Monday
I’m so glad you had your son home for Easter too :). It just makes it perfect, doesn’t it? Tell him good luck with all his final projects and exams. I’m sure he will do just great!!
thanks so much Cindy, I will tell him!
What a wonderful Easter weekend with family. And 4 days of relaxation doing what you want to do – Wow! The photo is spectacular with those lines of waves. You are putting me to sleep!
Wakey, wakey Dor!! LOL :). The last load of laundry is in, the vacuuming is done, and now my butt is on the couch for the rest of the day! I love having one last day like this with total peace and quiet. Daniel is home, but he is downstairs playing video games, so the upstairs is all mine because noisy Mikey has gone to work. Tee Hee :). How was your Easter Dor? I hope you had a chance to relax too (and eat lots of chocolate). Did you put some bunny ears on Rozie??
Beautiful!!!! I’m jealous…sounds like you had the perfect weekend 🙂
…and still enjoying it now :). Don’t be jealous Suzanne – you got to photograph a beautiful doe right in your backyard!! Nature that up close and personal – you are very lucky :).
I love getting a four day holiday for Easter. Never did in the US. Hope the editing job is going well.
Only 50 pages left!! Yahoooo!!! I will do a quick second run through, but this first one has been quite a challenge because the author’s first language is not English. The story is quite good, but the grammar, etc. needs tons of work! After every 10 pages or so, I have to get up and walk away for a few minutes to clear my head LOL :). I’m really glad that I was given the opportunity though because I think it’s great experience for me.
