It’s Christmas Eve, and there is only one more sleep until Santa comes! Yayyyy :). My parents arrived safely yesterday, and even though there is nobody under the age of 16 in our house, that air of excitement is building. We are all like little children just itching to give and receive presents, even my Daddy! Actually, I think he is the worst of all :).
Everything is all ready for the big day, so we are just trying to relax and enjoy the holidays. Last night we stuffed ourselves with a wonderful dinner cooked by my hubby, and then we all sat down to watch The Sound of Music. I have probably watched that movie about 40 times, and I still love it just as much as I did the first time I saw it as a child.
Each year I like to try out the new photography techniques I have learned throughout the year on my Christmas tree and other decorations. This year, for the first time, my experimenting involved manual mode, long exposures and a tripod, and I decided to share my favourites with you, my wonderful blogging friends. I hope you and your families enjoy a beautiful Christmas full of laughter, love and good food.
Thank you, and Merry Christmas to you and your family. I’m looking forward to another great year!
🙂
Merry Christmas to you and yours. We watched The Sound of Music with you. Hope you and yours have a marvelous time………sounds like you are off to a good start.
Yes we are!! Thank you 🙂
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!
Thank you so much 🙂
Merry Christmas, Cindy!
Thank you and same to you :). Looking forward to more amazing posts from you in 2013!!
Ohh wow these are great. Every year I try to take pictures of my tree but they just never do justice to how they look in real life, it’s quite sad.
These look great though! It must be wonderful to see how far your photography has come this year, I think it just gets better and better. 😀
I hope you have a great Christmas! 🙂
My pictures never used to turn out any good either, but I am learning more and more every day. I’m really glad you enjoyed them :). By the way, I can’t do my Hobbit post until after Christmas because my hubby took the new book away from me and said it had to be wrapped up for Christmas LOL!! You’ll have to be patient :).
Awwwwhhhh man! How dare he. 😛
Nahhh that’s cool, I will wait! 😀
I knew you would be understanding 🙂
We have some of the same decorations–I like that you put a spotlight on them–they deserve the special treatment. Merry Christmas to you and yours Cindy!
Great minds think alike :). That’s one of my favourite things about Christmas – getting out all of the decorations and reliving the old memories of Christmas’ past!
Lovely Cindy. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas.
Thanks Edith – hope you enjoy the holidays too!
Beautiful work! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!
Awww thanks Suzanne :). I can’t wait to open my stocking tomorrow morning because there’s always lots of chocolate in it!!!!! Oooh, I’m gonna get fat this Christmas LOL!
Ooooohhh…I ALREADY got fat for Christmas! LOL!
Ya, me too. Shhhh, don’t tell my hubby. He calls me “chubby” enough as it is LOL!!
You are like the little lace angel #1 photo, dropping in on my Christmas Eve to make it bright. I love the crystal drop at the end too, and as usual, your experiments in photography are a joy to behold. Happy Christmas and Happy 2013 too – to you and yours. Luv, Dor
Well, I’m not sure my hubby would agree with referring to me as an angel, but I think it’s sweet :). I’m glad you enjoyed my Christmas photos and I hope that your Christmas is filled to the brim with love and happiness!! Thank you for being one of my favourite blogging friends :).
Beautiful pictures! Have a wonderful Christmas!
Thank you and same to you :).
Merry Christmas!
And same to you 🙂
Love the shots Cindy! I like the one where we can see you too! 🙂 Very beautiful tree! My 14 month old is not ready to understand Christmas but he surely likes to rip the paper. I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow and ALL your boys make it a beautiful day!
We have had a wonderful day so far and are looking forward to a big turkey dinner cooked by my wonderful hubby!! You have so many fun years coming up with your little one once he starts to understand Christmas. I really miss buying toys for my boys – we could fill under the tree when they were little and it didn’t cost that much. Today my youngest son got 2 video games and an XBox annual membership, and that cost $200, and you could hold everything in one hand LOL!! Times sure have changed, but we still have a ton of fun :).
LOL that is so true! but I have found the price of toys have sky rocketed! We almost never buy him toys everyone else does because I can’t swallow the price of some of these toys. His Grandma got him a walker that plays music and teaches numbers and that thing was $70 USD!
Yay for Grandmas 🙂
What beautiful pics! I would swear these were professional shots or photoshopped to get them so perfect. Merry Christmas!
Aww shucks, that’s so nice of you :). I am definitely far from professional, but I am learning more and more every day. Thank you for such a wonderful compliment!! Merry Christmas to you too!
They turned out beautifully! I’ve been playing more with the tripod and have a whole new range of photos too.
Enjoy your holidays!
Nancy
Same to you Nancy, and I can’t wait to see your latest photos :).
Merry Christmas to you, too! The ornaments and the photos are lovely, I’ll have to try this technique :).
Thank you :). You should really try it – it was pretty easy.
I hope you are enjoying your holidays with family and thank goodness everyone arrived safe and sound. You may not believe this, but I’ve never seen The Sound of Music.
You have never ever seen The Sound of Music?!?!?! That surprises me with you so into the old classics. I think you would really love it, so my 2013 challenge to you is to watch it and learn all of the songs by heart, and then you can videotape yourself singing the songs and put them on your blog LOL!!!
I’ll do my best to watch, as for remembering the words to the songs–still haven’t master happy birthday so don’t hold your breath.
That’s why I like you so much – you always make me laugh :)!!
I am pretty funny looking 😉
LOL!
Late as I am, I just have to jump in and compliment you on your new shots. It’s been a pleasure working with you, and I’m looking forward very much to lots more of your new stuff!
Thanks Gary :). My camera has been sorely neglected over the Christmas holidays because I was busy with company, etc., but now that everything is getting back to normal I need to get out and capture some new images for 2013!!
