Circle of light

The fireworks that we went to see on Saturday night was only one event in a weekend full of festivities.  There was a classic car show, a BBQ, pony trail rides, an arts and crafts show, a volleyball tournament, an illusionist who hung upside down from a crane and escaped from a strait jacket, and helicopter rides, to name just a few.

Of course, the hit every year for the younger crowd is the mini midway, and while we were waiting for the fireworks to start I practiced with my camera and tripod setup by taking photos of the ferris wheel.  The lights on the wheel were constantly flashing and changing, so it was tricky, but I actually managed to get a handful of shots that turned out.  This is my favourite :).

and it looks marvelous… and thanks for the info on your last post… have often wondered how people get such great photos of fireworks… and yours being so good .. I just had to ask the expert…

    • Oooh, I may just have to print out this comment and frame it :). Expert?!? Not even close, but thanks for the vote of confidence Bulldog. I’m learning every day and trying very hard to retain it in my full to capacity brain, and I am happy to pass on anything new that I learn. That’s what friends are for right?

Why did you tie Mike upside down from a crane? I bet you were surprised when he escaped.

  3. this is fab Cindy, I’m sure I would have gone for the cliched long exposure option myself but this works so well I’ll be sure to try it myself in future.

    • Thanks Bunny :). Something about the contrast of the little bits of colour against the dark black just appealed to me. Hey, have you seen what I shared with you on Facebook this morning?!?!

      • I have and I’m sulking because now I want cake and red wine and it’s only just gone lunchtime and I have a migraine and shout kids and chocolate and wine and cheese don’t go with migraines and they’re my favourite food groups and aaaargh I’m sulking

      • Oh no, I’m sorry I didn’t see this comment earlier. I hope your day improved and that you eventually were relieved of pain and got to enjoy some chocolate and wine and cheese :).
