Diet Hiatus Continued…

A new record has been set for my birthday!  You know I had an icecream birthday cake at my brother’s house, and you also know that my mom and dad got me the most awesome chocolate cake with to die for chocolate icing.  But what you don’t know is that on our way home today, Mike said we had to get another cake because our boys hadn’t celebrated my birthday with me yet, and we couldn’t celebrate properly without a cake.

At a grocery store close to home we were faced with a terrible dilemma – too many yummy cakes to choose from.  What is the solution in a situation like that?  According to my hubby, the solution is to buy one of each.  So, we bought a black forest cake, a white bar cake (that ended up being almost the same as the black forest cake), and the most original of all, a hamburger cake.  Yes, you heard me right – a hamburger cake!!  The bun was vanilla cake, the burger was chocolate cake, and the condiments and lettuce were made of icing.  It was truly the most original cake I have every seen, and it was delicious. This means that my birthday cake record is FIVE!!

I know this will make all of you very hungry and maybe even mad at me, but I just have to show you my birthday cake collection :).  Here they are:

Ice cream cake

Chocolate cake

Hamburger cake

Yes, it’s the hamburger cake!! It was amazing :).

Ok, that’s it for birthday treats!  If I eat any more cake I’m going to blow up, so it’s salads for me for the rest of the week because if I step on the scale I will probably break it LOL!  I know you are all going to yell at me for teasing you with my cakes, but at least you don’t have to worry about whether or not you are going to fit into your clothes this week :).

A fitting set of cakes for a special birthday girl! I like the Hamburger Cake best – so creative. Mikey is a true treasure to get one of each. And all that chocolate…… heaven! 🙂

That hamburger cake is unreal. So creative.
Glad to see that you celebrated your birthday in such style.

(Fortunately, I’m not a cake lover so you haven’t made me hungry, but I do like good Swiss chocolate, of which I rarely get to eat these days).

    • It certainly was the most creative cake I have ever seen!! The funny thing is, because it looked so amazing, for some reason I didn’t expect it to taste very good, but it was absolutely amazing :).

Since my birthday is just 2 days before my mother’s I had to share a birthday cake with my mother for most of my life. Now it’s just hubby & I & he doesn’t believe in getting a cake just for the 2 of us, so I almost never get birthday cake! I am so jealous!

    • Sharing a birthday cake?!?! That’s just not right! And your hubby doesn’t get you a cake?!?! That’s just not acceptable – give that boy a slap! Too bad you weren’t closer because I would have given you one of my cakes :).

Well that settles it, I’m determined to have six cakes for my next birthday. I’ll show you. and I have stretchy pants for these types of situations.

Zomg SO MUCH CAKE!!!! CAN I COME LIVE WITH YOU PLEASE? I did have a triple chocolate muffin for lunch today though…I could definitely get used to that!

  13. dogear6 says:

I wouldn’t have to worry about fitting into my pants except now I want some too! I just might go to the grocery store and tomorrow and get some for myself. Yum!

  14. Like everyone else who’s commented about it, I’ve never seen a cake in the shape of a hamburger either. Live and learn (and in your case also eat).

  15. zannyro says:

I would like to have a french fry cake!! You had an amaaaazzzzzziiinnnnngggg birthday!

  16. Lucid Gypsy says:

Lol, the chocolate cake wins hands down! Does it mean its your birthday today?

    • Yes, my birthday was yesterday (July 2nd), and I am in a chocolate coma once again :). There was a chocolate mudslide cake for July 1st when we celebrated my birthday with our kids and then double chocolate fudge brownies for my actual birthday yesterday. I don’t think I will step on the scales today LOL.
