Until next year…

Bear with me because I like to finish what I start, so I have one more set of photos from Big Music Fest 2012 in Owen Sound, Ontario to show you.  I had to share these first two because of the passion for their music that the singers’ expressions show and for the elaborate tattoos.  I don’t have any tats myself, but I must say these are pretty awesome!! The first photo is the lead singer from I Mother Earth, a  Canadian alternative rock group which enjoyed the peak of its popularity in the mid-to-late 1990s but took an 8 year hiatus starting at the end of 2003.  They are back now and put on quite the show!

It was an incredibly long, hot and sunny day, and by late afternoon there were many people asleep (aka passed out for some) on the grass, but enduring the blazing sun was so worth it for me when Three Days Grace hit the stage as the last act to perform.  This was what I had been waiting for, and they didn’t disappoint.  Their performance was absolutely amazing, but I also loved how the lead singer interacted with the crowd.  He talked about how important it was to them as a band that they get up on stage and perform truly live, without any machines fixing their voices, and he really got the crowd pumped up!  They are not just musicians – they are entertainers.  If you are into alternative rock, you should definitely check them out.  Here is a photo of the lead singer, Adam Gontier.

As Three Days Grace performed encore after encore, a beautiful almost full moon lit up the sky over the lit up stage, and it was a perfect end to a perfect day!!  Now I can’t wait until next year :).

once again…great shots…. I use to have a lumix with a great zoom on it as well…. had its limits but was a fantastic little camera…

    • Although overall my dslr takes far better quality shots, I am really jealous sometimes at how much more Mike can zoom in with his camera than I can with mine, especially when we are trying to get wildlife shots without scaring them away :). He’s so funny now that he’s starting to enjoy photography – he’s always telling me how much better his shots are than mine!!! Thanks for the comment :).
