100 Days in the Loonybin!!

It is a truly exciting day.  Today is my 100th post at photos from the loonybin!!!  When I started this blog, it was truly an experiment, and I wasn’t sure how much I would like it or if I would be creative enough to keep it going.  But honestly, it has become a very enjoyable part of my life, and I have met so many interesting people, who are incredibly supportive.  I must say, though, that this blogging thing does take up a great amount of time.  Between keeping up with my own blog and following many other blogs and all the comments on each, my emails per day have probably tripled since I started!  I’m not complaining though – I just wish I had more spare time to devote to it.

So, yesterday I struggled to think of something special I could do for my 100th blog.  I didn’t want it to be just another picture.  Then something came over me, a silly kind of mood, and I started to play with food in the kitchen seeing how many types of food I could make the number 100 out of.  My youngest son came into the kitchen while I was “creating”, and he announced that he thought I was crazy and was going to disown me if I used that on my blog.  So, of course I took some pictures of my creation and decided to post it today.  The heck with him!! LOL

I worked on a lazy susan which I then put down on the carpet so that I would have a solid colour as a background.  When I saw the finished product on my computer, I decided that I wanted to do something more creative with the background.  The problem is, as you all know, I know very little about Photoshop other than the basics.  So, I dove into my pile of unread Photoshop books and decided to learn about vignetting.  What I ended up using was referred to as the burned-in edge effect.  I also tried the classic vignette effect with the background in white, but I like the dark background better.  I hope you like it too, even if it is kind of silly :).

Congrats on 100 posts!!! Your creativity amazes me 🙂

    • Thank you so much!! It’s funny you know – I have never considered myself a creative person because I was always horrible in art class (I can’t even do a good job on stick people), but I guess this just proves that there are more ways to be creative than being able to draw or paint.

  7. Off the hook creativity 🙂 L-O-V-E I-T
