It is a truly exciting day. Today is my 100th post at photos from the loonybin!!! When I started this blog, it was truly an experiment, and I wasn’t sure how much I would like it or if I would be creative enough to keep it going. But honestly, it has become a very enjoyable part of my life, and I have met so many interesting people, who are incredibly supportive. I must say, though, that this blogging thing does take up a great amount of time. Between keeping up with my own blog and following many other blogs and all the comments on each, my emails per day have probably tripled since I started! I’m not complaining though – I just wish I had more spare time to devote to it.
So, yesterday I struggled to think of something special I could do for my 100th blog. I didn’t want it to be just another picture. Then something came over me, a silly kind of mood, and I started to play with food in the kitchen seeing how many types of food I could make the number 100 out of. My youngest son came into the kitchen while I was “creating”, and he announced that he thought I was crazy and was going to disown me if I used that on my blog. So, of course I took some pictures of my creation and decided to post it today. The heck with him!! LOL
I worked on a lazy susan which I then put down on the carpet so that I would have a solid colour as a background. When I saw the finished product on my computer, I decided that I wanted to do something more creative with the background. The problem is, as you all know, I know very little about Photoshop other than the basics. So, I dove into my pile of unread Photoshop books and decided to learn about vignetting. What I ended up using was referred to as the burned-in edge effect. I also tried the classic vignette effect with the background in white, but I like the dark background better. I hope you like it too, even if it is kind of silly :).
I think it is cute! And it made me hungry. Congrats on 100 posts!
Thanks TBM!! It made me hungry too. In fact, some of it ended up in my belly instead of back in the fridge 🙂
This is awesome Cindy!!!! Congrats on your 100th post!!! Feels good right?? I get what you say with the time issue…. I have the same problem!!! I’ve got such a lack of time, that my blog is lacking in posts 😦 … hopefully I’ll catch up soon!!! Keep up your great posts…. I’m having a ball reading them!!! 😀 **
Thank you so much. You always make me feel so good about myself, and I appreciate it!! You are a very positive person 🙂
Congaratulations Cindy. I think I like the cheese and onion best!
Thank you David. I liked the cheese too – that’s why it ended up in my belly!! My son still thinks I’m crazy though. LOL
I think it’s very original! 🙂 Congrats on 100 posts!!!
Yes, I wanted something totally different for today. Thanks for the congrats!
Wicked!!! Congrats on the 100th blog! Great milestone! Looks good on the lazy susan too – nice texture to the backdrop! Looking forward to the next 100!
Thanks for all of the compliments. I really appreciate it, and thanks for visiting my blog!!
Congrats on 100 posts!!! Your creativity amazes me 🙂
Thank you so much!! It’s funny you know – I have never considered myself a creative person because I was always horrible in art class (I can’t even do a good job on stick people), but I guess this just proves that there are more ways to be creative than being able to draw or paint.
Off the hook creativity 🙂 L-O-V-E I-T
Wow, thank you so much. I’m glad you liked it!!
