Christmas shopping Tree up and decorated

Wrapping done
This is the moment I wait for every year – that feeling of relief when all of the major preparations for Christmas are done (and with time to spare). Don’t get me wrong – I still have things to do (baking, cleaning, etc.), but to me the most time consuming is the shopping and the wrapping, so when they are done I feel a weight lift off my shoulders. My husband, being the funny guy that he thinks he is, saw how totally into wrapping mode I was (in the zone as they say) and tried to convince me to wrap my own presents, but I quickly put an end to that idea. I may have picked out most of my presents (why, because my husband is technologically challenged and I usually want techy gifts, so it’s easier to pick them out myself) but I draw the line at wrapping my own gifts. It was a good try though, I’ll give him that.
This Christmas is going to be very special because my parents are coming for the holidays. In the 22 years that we have been married, my parents have never been with us on Christmas morning to open presents, so everyone is really looking forward to their visit. Every time I talk to my Dad I tell him that I am still wrapping his presents, and I think it’s driving him crazy! He was always the one in our family to guess the presents before he opened them. And my husband, the cook of the household, has already put 2 pans of lasagne, 2 pans of cabbage rolls, and 5 loaves of chocolate chip banana bread into the freezer so that we have meals ready ahead of time. He will also be cooking Christmas dinner. Anybody jealous yet? LOL
So, let the celebrations begin, and with that in mind what better photo to post today than one that signifies celebrations – fireworks!
I love the fireworks
Thank you! I still tend to get far more bad shots of fireworks than good ones, but I really liked this one.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas. My husband is also the cook of the household 🙂 Judy
Even more we have in common Judy!!! You know, I don’t mind cooking, but it just takes up so much time and keeps me from my hobbies. For my husband, cooking is his hobby, so I just let him go at it, and then I look after the cleanup afterwards. I hope you and your family have a fantastic Christmas too!!
I have to admit that your husband and I are of kindred spirit with regards to Christmas time. Love the photo, certainly expresses celebration.
When you say kindred spirits are you meaning that you try and get other people to wrap for you as well?? LOL All I know is that my back is very happy that I don’t have to wrap tonight. Thank you for commenting and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!!
I don’t think your husband tried quite hard enough, or perhaps he’s just going about it in the right way. I have, on occasion, managed to convince my wife to wrap her own presents, so it CAN be done. 🙂
Very nice fireworks image, not incidentally.
My husband says to tell you that he hasn’t given up quite yet and that if I really and truly love him and I really want my presents, I will wrap them myself!! You men are impossible! 🙂
Hello! I wanted to let you know that I’ve given you the Versatile Blogger Award.
