The big move was a success last weekend, and my oldest son, Bryan, is now settled into his new apartment in Kitchener, near his college. Unlike residence, he has a real kitchen now with a full-sized fridge and a stove, and he has actually cooked some proper meals this week instead of just throwing pizza pops into the microwave. He also bought curtain rods and curtains and installed them himself! Wow, who knew? Unfortunately, Bryan’s first day of the new semester didn’t turn out very well because his car broke down on the way to campus, stranding him and causing him to miss all his classes as he waited for a mechanic to fix it. However, the rest of the week has gone well for him, and tomorrow we are heading down for a visit to celebrate my son, Daniel’s 18th birthday at The Mandarin, the Chinese buffet restaurant where we always celebrate birthdays. I am going to pig out!!
Hopefully this weekend will be much more about fun and relaxation, and to start it off the best way possible, let’s play the mystery photo game. It’s quite a strange one this time, and I’m really looking forward to see what you come up with this week. I think we may see quite a variety of answers. Have a great weekend everyone :). Ok, ready, set, go….
P.S. Since we have returned from our fantastic adventure, I have finally completely caught up on emails and TV shows, cleaned Bryan’s room and packed away his trophies and nick knacks so we can give it a fresh paint job, and edited photos of Mike’s baby niece. I just have to finish editing the photos from my niece’s wedding, and then it will be time to blog about out trip :).
looks like teeth in need of dentistry
Welcome to the loonybin Scott :). Great guess but you will have to wait until tomorrow to see the answer because I have followers in different time zones who need a chance to guess.
Ugh. Did you go into the Paris catacombs? 😮 It certainly doesn’t look like chocolate.
Off topic, but hey. Did you have any macarons on your trip? (please say no, please say no – jealous if you did!).
No, it’s not chocolate, and no, we didn’t have macarons. I just looked them up though, and they look deeeeeelicious!
Bones from the Catacombs!
Enjoy the food extravaganza this weekend. I’m totally jealous! Happy birthday Dan!
Thanks and I’ll pass on the wishes to Dan :).
eugh catacomb bones, ewww, off to try and find smaller school trousers for the Monkey as I suck at shortening the ones we already bought (they’re tapered so wrinkles galore) they were the shortest ones they do at the shop we went to and I still needed to take over 3 inches out. Will have to try another shop this time. Can’t believe he starts proper school on Monday where does time go?
Have fun with that my friend. I hate shortening pants too. In fact, I hate anything to do with sewing :).
eventually gave up and went shopping, 2 grumpy kids 1 trip to macdonalds and 7 shops later I found some designed for two year olds that fit him.
mmmmm, I want McDonalds :).
Oh my god this is a hard one. Looks like something the squirrels are hoarding. Glad to hear the move went well. We moved my son last weekend as well to his house in London. iswas a lot of work but he’s all settled in now.
It really is a lot of work isn’t it? Now I know why we have just stayed in our small house. Moving would be horrible, and now that they boys are closer to moving out, we don’t need anything bigger. I’m glad we stayed where we are :).
Looks like a pile of discarded hippopotamus teeth.
LOL!! I love this answer :).
You mean that’s not correct?!
You are like the Energizer Bunny. I figure this is a photo of misshapen pretzel bits you collected for the birthday party. 🙂
Oooh, I love this answer too. You have an amazing imagination! By the way, my mom says she gets tired just listening to what I do in a day :).
Okay, I’ve been looking at the photo for 10 minutes and I still don’t have a clue, LOL. Like the others I was kind of leaning towards some kind of catacombs or underground tunnel with weird stuff in it, but somehow I don’t think that’s specific enough….
MAYBE IT’S DRAGON BONES OR THE REMNANTS OF A DRAGON THAT’S GONE THROUGH TEETHING. OOOH.
Ooooh, now I want to read a dragon book :). I had to pack up all Bryan’s dragon figurines last weekend, and it was so sad because I think I loved them as much as he did.
Funny, I dreamt of that last night. Must reduce cheese consumption Grommet.
A ceramic gas burning thingy. ?
eer, you haven’t been eating the post men have you. It’s not cricket you know. 🙂
Graham, you always make me smile :).
Excellent, I can now retire from public life and take up being a full time miscreant. Yay 😀
LOL!! 🙂
How did you get pics of my kidney stone? That’s exactly what it looked like!
Geez, I hope you didn’t have that many!!
Thanks for your concern, it was only one but I thought you might have used some type of photo trick, hahahahahaha!
Good morning everyone!! After wild and crazy storms here last night in Southern Ontario, we’re still alive and kicking, although I believe there are places still without power, and I heard that one man was pinned underneath a fallen tree last night. The most horrifying thing was that a first year university student in the city where Bryan goes to school was hit by lightening yesterday and killed. My heart goes out to her family. I can’t even imagine what they are going through!
Now for the mystery photo. There were some very interesting answers like I knew there would be, but anyone who said bones from the Paris Catacombs was correct. That was one of the coolest places we explored on our recent adventure. I believe these are femurs, and they literally stacked them like firewood. It was creepy and very fascinating!!
bones from the Paris Catacobs–I have a new tactic in dealing with your mystery photos–I am going to guess after you have given the answer so that I will be right and win your chocolate prize–what you have no chocolate prize–methinks you should start
Give away chocolate?!?! Are you crazy? LOL
I can’t believe everyone is so hung up on bones and teeth, though there is a definite resemblance. They look so uniform in size and shape and sort of glaze-coated that my guess is a breakfast cereal, though I’m at a complete loss to guess which one.
Ewww no, definitely not cereal :). They really are bones stacked up in the Paris Catacombs which is a very unique and creepy place to explore!
Yuk! Bones! And here I thought they were pretzels! 😦 Bummer. 🙂
It’s funny how many people thought it was food :).
