Happy Spring everyone!! At least I hope that some of you are celebrating the signs of Spring that don’t seem to be gracing us with their presence here in Southern Ontario. Our first day of Spring was full of blowing snow and closed roads, and apparently there is another whopper heading our way for tonight. Boy, I sure do whine a lot don’t I? Last week it was my cold and this week it’s the weather, but trust me even the people who normally love winter around here have had enough this year! We’re all kind of cranky LOL :).
On the flip side, they say that it’s going to be an incredibly hot and dry summer, and all I can say is bring it on!! Hot weather is something you will never here me whine about, ever! Now it’s Friday fun time. Let the guesses fly. Ok, ready, set, go….
I’m still wearing shorts and flipflops here in London although I’m pretty much on my own. Off to Malta with my parents next Friday so I may be late although I’ll do my best to still put in an appearance. I think the photo is of one of those wonderfully warm and soft polyester blankets that create their own special electrical storms and make all your hair stand on end. You don’t see that level of orange in real life.
You sound like my youngest son :). As soon as the temperatures climb above freezing he will be permanently in shorts no matter what everyone else is wearing. Have fun in Malta next week. It sounds like such a wonderful getaway!
Thank you, we can’t wait
I agree with Stacey on your facebook page–it is a mute swan know to be an inhabitant not only of earth but mars, and it has a predilection for chocolate and drinks with umbrellas in them
I need some chocolate and drinks with umbrellas in them right now. Would you care to join me? 🙂
yes please, P.S. I think everyone else is right about it being a swan and my poly blanket thing was way off the mark
most assuredly–I worked in a law office once and I know how much one needs chocolate and drinks with umbrellas–it is brutal!
Yayyyy, party time!!!
Let’s have a party :).
This is an exotic tropical bird who got off course and wound up in frigid Canada! P.S. I’m glad your cold is over and you are only whining about the weather now. 🙂 Take heart! Spring is en route since I’m coming home now from Fa.
Thanks Dor, you are giving me hope :). Did you have fun in Florida?
Two beaches and a sun burn! 🙂 More details and photos to follow soon. 🙂 Stay tuned.
Can’t wait!
Don’t worry Cindy. I’m cranky and whiny about the weather is well. As for the Mystery photo that’s a swan. And I’d like to see more of them which means that the weather will be nicer.
You know, I would really love to see somebody do a study of people’s mental health after this long and harsh winter. Everyone I talk to is so incredibly tired and cranky. I am usually a very happy person, but I just feel so out of sorts lately, and I’m ready to get outside and feel the sunshine on my face and the warmth soak into my bones. Hopefully that happens soon :).
this is actually a condition called SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) you can buy special lamps to help fight it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seasonal_affective_disorder
You know Bunny, I have definitely heard of that, but it never dawned on me that this is what I could be experiencing. It sounds exactly how I’m feeling, and it’s so out of character for me. Mother Nature and I need to have a talk!! Enough is enough! Or, I could just come to Malta with you :).
Your toothbrush. I think it’s time for a new one.
Ewwwww!!!
I love your guesses and they aren’t even pub inspired lately cause you have been so busy
Yes, I think you two think quite a bit alike :).
remember, great minds………….
I did spend the day in the pub today. I was editing of course. What else do you do in a pub?
You must have had a couple of beers :).
I tried some apricot beer over the weekend–maybe that is what she had
Apricot beer?? I have never heard of that. Was it good?
excellent
I will search for this apricot beer that you speak of. I’m trying to increase my fruit intake.
Hahahahahaha!!!
And I plan to eat more cherry pie, banana cream pie, and apple pie, even though I’m not a huge fan, but you know what they say, an apple pie a day keeps the doctor away. Does ice cream count as increasing my dairy intake.
Oh hell ya, that’s why I had two bowls last night LOL!!
That is a nice close up of a mute swan.
Thanks Jeff 🙂
I was going to say duck beak (as it appears when viewed in the Bloglovin reader) but after reading the comments here I will *grudgingly* bow to the majority’s guess. *rolls eyes*
On the other hand – the first day of Spring was absolutely gorgeous here and the same today. ARE YOU JEALOUS?! Wish we could send you some of this lovely weather to help brighten up Ontario. 🙂
Cindy, what’s up with the smilies? Did WP change it or do you have a setting on your blog that allows for a different style?
ooh ooh I heard wordpress had updated their emoticons this is the first I’ve seen of them though 😉
They are a new replacement by WP. There is a Forum thread if you want to complain (I did, their ‘orrible).

“Horrible” is the word. They looks like the WalMart smiley after it was hit by a train!
LOL … and they produced one that suits the endeavour
❗
Oh ya, the emoticons are different aren’t they? LOL
Very jealous LOL!
Vatever yew doos, doos not feed ish afta mishnight or gesh it wet. Look wash ‘append to me. 😐
I haven’t got a clue on this one! I thought there was a blanket in the background because of the fringe but I couldn’t figure out what the orange & black thing was.
Looks like some of you are in for some heavy snow in Cananda and USA. Hope you are all OK.
I think the mystery photo is an ornamental foot slipper (with perhaps some emphasis on the mental).
. Kudos to anyone who admits to wearing it. 🙂
Be well and go careful. 🙂
We sure got it Graham. It’s a winter wonderland once again :(.
You thought I was whining yesterday? That was nothing compared to the whining I’m going to do this morning!! We got about 10 inches of snow last night, and it’s still not done. It would be pretty if it was December, but it’s not!!! Mike had to drive Daniel to work this morning, and the car was dragging bottom. WTF????? Anyway, you are all very smart. My mystery photo was indeed a close up of part of the face and neck of a mute swan, and what a beautiful creature it is. If it’s sunny and warm where you are today, please think of me and pity me :(.
To cheer you up (no joking):-
“Bacteria in our stomach ferment chocolate into useful anti-inflammatory compounds that are good for the heart, scientists have said”

av a teddy bear 🐻
I knew there was a reason why I love chocolate so much :). Thanks Graham!
ok…once again, late to the party….I think it’s a cool pair of shoes.
Sorry, but that’s not it. It’s actually a swan :).
I know…..one of those killer mute swans….Actually…we’ve had a couple on the lake that did try to kill someone….scary! They tried to drown them!
Wow!! Really? And here I thought they were such beautiful, gentle creatures.
Not the mute swans…..I’m not sure about the others…people here actually have them in their ponds because they make such good “watch dogs”
Well, you’ve taught me something new today. Thanks :).
Good…now go turn loose the thirty swans you’ve got in the living room.
ok boss 🙂
