What a week! I was so busy at work that my head was spinning by the time I went home each night. It’s ok though because I just have to get through today, and then I can enjoy a much deserved weekend. This weekend will be especially great because yesterday was my oldest son’s 21st birthday, so we are going down to his college to take him and his girlfriend to the Mandarin restaurant. It is the best Chinese buffet around, and I am going to pig out!! I might even have a couple of fancy drinks with umbrellas in them, which will be entertaining for my children because one drink and I will be sloshed. The last time we were there for one of their birthdays, they kept ordering me more drinks when I went to the bathroom. Funny aren’t they?
So, what do all my blogging friends have planned for the weekend? Is it going to be a busy one or a relaxing one? Or maybe a combination of the two. Whatever your plans are, I hope you all have an amazing weekend. Now, let’s start it off with some fun. It’s time to play the mystery photo game, and all I’m going to say this week is that you should think very carefully :). Ok, ready, set, go….
howdy pardner, we’re off house hunting in the West Country for the weekend which will be fun. I think that this looks like ceiling detail from your earlier mention of ceilings this week. Your’re just checking that we don’t just check in on Friday’s aren’t you?
Now what makes you think that? LOL!! Happy house hunting :).
Has to be a ceiling.
are you sneaking into my home again–it is the ceiling of my celestrial bathroom on the main floor of my manse–if you snuck in for the pic you should have stayed for some tea!
And chocolate?? 🙂
most definitely!
Yayyyy!!
Um…your doodle pad at work. You slack off way too much. I’m proud of you. Happy birthday to your son
You know me too well :).
It’s what they had before television and why they invented it. 🙂
“and I have saved my favourite of all for my next post. Stay tuned!” – gotcha 😉
I don’t believe a word of it. It’s a fancy washboard from when you did royal laundry just before being whisked away by a prince who kept frogs for a hobby. Thats a lot more sensible than ceiling design. 🙂
I was whisked away by a prince?!?! My hubby is awesome, but we certainly don’t live in a castle with lots of money LOL!!
As for your quote from my blog, I meant my next regular blog, not my mystery photo blog :).
I’ve been twizzled. 🙂
Blast. All that detail offered and I don’t have a clue what it is!
Come on, take a guess. Remember think carefully about my blog.
It’s how you see your front door when your head is spinning? I mean, you are seeing umbrellas in your drinks, so…. 😉
LOL – that’s hilarious :).
It is a seafarer’s calendar embedded in the ceiling of a lighthouse!!! Or it could be a lighthouse door that inspired Alfred Hitchcock to film “The Birds.” Did you have more than one drink when you posted this? Have fun and Happy 21st to your boy too. That’s a big one. 😉
No drinks yet – that’s tomorrow night :). It is a big birthday isn’t it? I was laying in bed last night feeling kind of sad thinking back to when he was born and all that we went through because he was very sick. It seems like just yesterday, and I can’t believe how 21 years have flown by and what a handsome man he is now. I started thinking about all the things I miss: all of us cuddling in bed on Saturday mornings watching cartoons, the never ending hugs and kisses that I received when they were little, Bryan saying “I you Mommy” which was his version of I love you, reading to both boys every day, and all the crazy wonderful things that little kids say and do. It made me kind of sad for a bit, but life moves on, and now it’s time for Mike and I :).
Aww, what a wonderful Mommy you were and are. I do understand all that nostalgia too and I feel it when I look at our grow up son who was such a funny little boy. But you are so right, it’s time for you and Mike now, and I have the feeling the kids will work their way back into your arms more often than you think. 🙂
I hope so! Thanks Dor :).
This is part of the ceiling from your Ottawa trip, I remember looking at this very carefully & trying to figure out what all the different figures were! At first glance I thought it was a backsplash, but no – it’s definitely the ceiling!
Absolutely no plans for this weekend, but you go have fun & wish Brian a Happy Birthday from me!
I will – thank you very much :). No plans sounds wonderful. Sometimes those are the best weekends of all!
Wallpaper. 🙂
You win the “most guesses of the week” award :).
I’d like to thank my agent, a passing hedgehog and triple bypass psychiatry. 🙂
LOL!
I have an essay planned for this weekend, and the weekend after that….and the weekend after THAT. Waaaaa. :O
Oh, my poor book buddy :(. That’s ok – you will make short work of those nasty essays and still find time to relax and read! It will all be worth it in the end :).
Good morning everyone :). Well, most of you had paid attention to my blog posts this week and figured out that this was a close up of one of the ceilings we saw at the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, Ontario. Now it’s still not my favourite one that I promise to share with you soon, but it was gorgeous. I don’t think there were any two ceilings the same in that place! Have a great weekend!!
Time to say thank you for the effort. It has become a delight to share in the tomfoolery. And, it has done wonders for the decor. I now have some handy little alcoves where I have been banging my head against the wall. Have a nice weekend and I hope the snow clears soon. 🙂
I’m so glad you are enjoying the mystery photos and that they help you with your decorating LOL!!!
I knew what it was–just did not want to be obvious with my knowledge
I knew you knew. You just didn’t want to make anyone else feel bad because you are so smart :).
yeah, that’s it! you are a good friend!
🙂
