Mr. Bunny Chow is my hero!!! Once again it’s Friday and I totally forgot about the mystery photo, but like a good friend he was there to remind me :).
Usually I draft the mystery photo on Thursday night, but we had to make an emergency trip to Kitchener last night because a water pipe broke the other day at my son’s college residence in that frigid weather we had, and they discovered that the damage to the floors was bad enough that they need to be ripped up. As a result, Bryan had to move to another room one floor up. The people at the residence were being very helpful and offered to move the newer furniture in his old room up to the new room, but Bryan had nothing to pack his stuff in to move it, and he had to move everything – contents of fridge and freezer, dishes and pots and pans, toiletries and towels, clothing, school books and supplies, and of course all his electronics. It was essentially like packing up a whole apartment and moving it. So, when I got home from work yesterday, we grabbed all the plastic bins we had and drove an hour and a half to Kitchener to lend a hand.
I’m so glad that we did because Bryan looked exhausted and stressed, and he would have been all night doing it by himself. Plus I felt sorry for the people running the residence because the girl in the other room that was affected was being a total b*&#@, and they were busy dealing with her and her parents. You know the type – “no way is our daughter moving, and you will be hearing from our lawyer”. Like they did this on purpose right? Like they had any control over Mother Nature? Some people just live to be difficult!!
Luckily, I already had a mystery photo in mind, so I was able to quickly draft my post this morning. This one is quite different, and I’m interested to see what guesses people come up with. So, happy Friday everyone and let the fun begin. Ok, ready, set, go…..
Looks like the engine cover on a snow blower, I would have said lawnmower but it’s not really the season for it. Glad my reminder was of some help.
Looks like the exhaust guard on your snowblower. Which it seems you’ve been able to get a lot of use out of so far this year 😀
It’s a Thing-Ummy-Bob. And we know a song abut that don’t we Noddy:-
Sorry about the youtube advert, you can soon skip it.
Tink 🙂
These winter storms have been wreaking havoc in all sorts of ways! I’m sure Bryan was extremely happy to have your help and you to give it! That’s what great parenting is all about, isn’t it?
And the mystery photo? Recognizing it is something from a snowblower is a level of expertise waaaaay beyond me! I thought it was something electronic but that was as close as I got, although that does look like water on the right. Never mind, it was lovely to read the part about you rising to the occasion in Kitchener! I like those kind of stories!
We received lots of hugs and thanks, and I was relieved to see him settled in the new room. I’m glad we went :).
The box you keep Mike in when he’s bad. Glad to hear Bryan is safe and sound.
The best answer yet LOL!!!!
no, it would have ketchup in it
Nah, he doesn’t get ketchup if he has been bad LOL!!
you are cruel
Tee Hee 🙂
What wonderful parents Bryan has! I know with your help he is back in business. As for the mystery photo – looks like an oid oil heater to me but your snow blower friends probably know better. 🙂
Awww thanks :). You won’t believe this, but I just had a phone call from Bryan saying that now a pipe burst on their college campus and classes were cancelled for the rest of the day. It never rains, it pours right?
I really should look at everybody else’s comments before I make my guess I think I’m wrong because everybody said snowblower but I don’t have a snowblower so I don’t know what they look like. So I’m going to guess that it’s a old computer CPU. I know that’s probably wrong. By the way you’re a good mom. This weather has been wrecking havoc on the whole province.
Thanks Edith :). I was just mentioning to Dor above that now a pipe has burst on Bryan’s college campus and classes were cancelled for the rest of the day. 2014 has definitely had an interesting start!!
looks like the heating and cooling register I had in my residence room when I went to university
Maybe it’s the cooling device that my alien friends keep their chocolate in because their planet is so warm :).
and beer and mayo
Mayo?!?! You put mayo on the same level with chocolate and beer? 🙂
I was going to say air conditioner… then decided against that, maybe a heater then decided against that… a bird cage,,no… shit if its a snow blower i wouldn’t know, no need for that by us… but it must be outside as its got water on it… lawn mower its not… must be one of those things…what do you call it again?
A DIY Meccano submarine. Rarely seen on the surface. 🙂
Now that’s an original answer I must say 🙂
I’m a bit stumped, is it an alien? Or an alien’s lawnmower?
LOVE TMB’s answer.
All the university packing and unpacking sounds like a nightmare! Still, I bet it will make a great anecdote for later. 🙂
🙂
The story gets better – now a pipe has burst on campus and all classes have been cancelled, so it’s a long weekend for Bryan!! Love your alien lawnmower answer by the way :).
Whooaaa, all the excitement from my teens years just rushed back reading that. I remember how ecstatic I used to feel when classes were cancelled!!
Oh yes, he was definitely not upset about this water pipe break LOL!!
Your toothbrush cover.
Wow, that would be quite the toothbrush cover LOL!!
Map of Time has been into the beer that the device is used to cool
Hahahaha!!
No, LouAnn, it’s a chocolate overdose!
Fan to your snowblower?
I didn’t know that snowblowers had acolytes. 🙂
It’s a GT Chunkalug. 🙂
A what? Wait a minute – is that the vehicle that my alien friends drive?
I did not mind when classes were cancelled as long as the pub was open — is this a beer cooling device
I know – the tears only flowed when the pubs ran out of beer!! LOL
Oh my—-what a story and then I just saw your comment that a pipe had burst and classes are cancelled. The fun never stops. As for your mystery picture—-I was going to say an ac unit but I know that isn’t right. 🙂
All I can say is that the last week can certainly not be described as boring :). I hope the weekend is quiet!
Good morning everyone :). After all our cold and snow, would you believe it’s actually raining here today? It’s just yucky out, and I’m feeling very lazy today, but I do have many things to do this weekend. So, I thought I’d better reveal the answer to the mystery photo before I forget. Although there were many interesting and amusing guesses, Mr. Bunny Chow, Jeff Sinon, and Benzeknees were correct with their snowblower answers. It is the cover or housing over the motor of the snowblower which my hubby has been getting a great deal of use out of lately. Congrats to the winners!!
I got it right! Yeah! You gave us a hint & the water droplets on the cover were what gave it away to me. Kelvin has no guess this time.
I knew you could do it!! You are so smart :).
Now how was a South African meant to know that when he doesn’t even know what snow is ??
Rub it in why don’t you LOL!!
You could make outrageous guesses like me, Bulldog.
Did you see all my guesses… could not decide on one that might fit…
I seen them, but my guesses are more of the trolling variety. Yours were feasible and legitimate answers. 🙂
I got it and I’m Zimbabwean, you at least get snow occasionally in your country.
Well Mr Zimbabwean, I’m an ex Rhodesian (note Rhodesian) and where I stay if we got snow like they do I’d move to warmer pastures…
Easy boys, easy! LOL 🙂
