Mystery Photo #102

I thought I had all of you totally outsmarted last Friday with the mystery photo, but I was obviously sorely mistaken.  So, I had to put on my thinking cap and come up with something really tricky for this week.  Mike and I have a very long drive ahead of us this morning, so I’m hoping you will entertain us with your guesses and help to make our journey go by quickly.

We are heading to Kingston, Ontario this weekend to celebrate my daddy’s 80th birthday, and I’m really looking forward to it.  The drive to Kingston is 4 hours, and then we are picking up my parents and heading a further 2 hours east to our nation’s capital, Ottawa.  I have never been to Ottawa before, and we thought it might be something different to do for my dad’s birthday.  We are going to spend a few hours at the casino there, stay in a hotel for the night, and then do some sightseeing on Saturday before returning to Kingston for a family birthday dinner at a restaurant on Sunday.  I hope my dad has a fantastic time this weekend because he really deserves it!!

It’s time to hit the road, so let the fun begin.  Ok, ready, set, go…..

I’m becoming convinced about the alien aspect. Obviously the footmarks of an alien robot left at a time when the earth was just a molten mass of metal. aaaaaargh.

Or, the homes of parasitic nanobots. aaaaaargh.

I’ve got a chocolate drink, don’t you know. mmmmmmm

  2. Okay with respect to your trip have a great time. Wish your dad a very happy birthday. Now onto the mystery photo I got nothing. I’m trying hard but I just can’t figure it out. Okay how about this It’s a peephole a one eyed monster. Told you nothing!

  3. Beth Ann says:

I hope you have a safe and fun trip and Happy Birthday to your dad!!! 🙂 All I can think of is that the pic is part of a stove—-the burner on a gas stove where the little grate sits. Long shot but it’s early and I only have one cup of coffee in me!

  4. Hmmmm my previous guess appears to have been zapped by the aliens so I’ll go again. It appears to be the drain holes in some sort of Teflon coated griddle pan. I could of course be delusional but it is possible. Have a great trip, may dad was in Ottawa earlier in the year and loved it.

Have a wonderful trip and tell your dad happy birthday and have a slice of cake for me–or two! Now, I think Beth Ann and Mr. Bunny are on to something. But I’m going to take a stab at it. Is it metal!

  6. RMW says:

The metal coating looks like it would be inside an oven… but then when you said some people say they never owned one, that threw me off… but I’m going with the oven theory… I couldn’t tell you what part of the oven but that’s the closest I can get.

This black hole was discovered only last week. I say black hole singular because the red phase shift in the cosmos makes it look like two black holes. It is the only known black hole that has rings although they are not circular as are those around Saturn. Hope I have finally guessed right.
    Happy birthday to Dad 🙂

It’s a politician. That is, when pressed something hot and watery appears from the inside. 🙂

Does being stumped hurt. It sounds dreadful. aaaaaaaaaaaaargh 🙂

  10. benzeknees says:

I was stumped so Kelvin’s guess is it is part of a broiling pan. I would have said it was part of the inside of the doors on a vehicle, but that doesn’t go with your clue.

Aggh this one is frustrating, I feel as if there is a nagging feeling at the back of my mind telling me I should know what this one is! I’m intrigued.

  12. Map of Time says:

I don’t know although possibly it’s the key ignition to your spaceship.

  13. I made a guess and now it is not here — and I am sure it was a good one–so don’t think I wasn’t here–I was–but I cannot remember what I said–alas and alack

  14. hey sleephead–where are you–now I have to go to work–see you later…………

  15. Good morning everyone :). We had a wonderful night at the casino in Ottawa last night, where there was a great live band and an amazing all you can eat buffet dinner. We didn’t win anything big but we had fun playing :). Now for the mystery photo. Wahoooo!!! I got you guys this week! It was the bottom of an iron – you’re kicking yourselves now aren’t you? The guesses were great though I must admit. Gotta go – time for free breakfast at the hotel :).

My father will be having his 80th birthday on Nov. 20. How much alike we are.

    • We are, aren’t we :). Hope your daddy has a wonderful birthday like my daddy is having. We had a great night at the casino in Ottawa last night, spent all day today exploring in Ottawa, and tomorrow we are going out for a family birthday dinner.

    What’s an iron?
