Generally, I like photos to be really sharp, and this one just isn’t, but I have an excuse (sort of). I was in a hurry last night trying to figure out something to use for the mystery photo because we were packing to go away for the weekend. Wahooooo!!!!!
You may recall that last summer Mike and I spent a long weekend up at my cousin’s resort in Port Loring, Ontario, which is in the Muskokas. It’s a beautiful spot with cabins lining the lake and a lodge up on a hill. I quickly found my favourite spot – a bench on the point looking out over the water where I could read to my heart’s content, and Mikey was happy because we could take a boat out fishing whenever we wanted.
This weekend my cousin has invited Mike and I, my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, and a few of my cousins up to Wright Point Resort for a mini family reunion. We booked Friday and Monday off work, so we have 4 days to be one with nature. Although we had a huge heat wave this week, the temperatures are now dropping rapidly, so it’s not going to be a shorts and t-shirt weekend by any means, but as long as the sun shines I will be happy. I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone.
So, I apologize for my less than sharp photo, but this is unlike any mystery photo I have ever posted, so I thought it might be fun and kind of tricky. And no, LouAnn, it’s not a part from my alien friends’ spaceship :). Let’s see how well those brain cells are firing this week. Ok, ready, set, go…..
looks like bagpipes….
Bagpipes or is this a trick question?
yes, yes it is a trick question–anything that comes too easily is probably a trick question–she has lured us into her trap–all of us thinking we have the right answer–then she will tell us we were all wrong and it is the mast of a schooner or something
Mwah ha ha 🙂
aren’t you supposed to be working too–oh no, I forgot–you are on a mini-vacation
Yup, we’re cruising north on Highway 69 with old 70’s music cranked on the satellite radio!! Work is just a distant memory :).
thank god- I remember working in a law office–hated almost every minute of it!
Yes, any break from that place is always welcome!
The dastardly woman! 🙂
Hey!! LOL
Bagpipe.
I agree….bagpipe!
LouAnn’s spaceship.
Hahahaha!! Good one :). It’s 7:14 am and we are on the road. Our car is soooo full it’s hilarious because we have to take all our food, towels and bedding, clothes, and all Mikey’s fishing stuff. Good thing we didn’t have to fit the kids in LOL!!
I wish Ms. Loony had not discounted this–I am sure there are Scottish people on Mars–some of my relatives I am sure are there as they seem spaced out sometimes–I am of partial Scottish descent
Ya, I think some of my relatives are there too LOL!!
hence the spaceship rides late at night while your husband sleeps
You know me so well :).
Mine are on Pluto. it’s an ice chunk and we like cocktails.
is there no beer planet with pubs?
You see, you guys always know how to have fun on mystery photo day. Thanks for keeping me laughing!! 🙂
I am supposed to be doing some work I am trying to avoid–hence all the stupid comments
LouAnn if you can find a beer planet with pubs I’ll buy the first round. And can the pub have bangers and mash. That’s my fave.
I will Google that!
Can I come too? I will be the designated astronaut driver of the spaceship as long as you feed me lots of chocolate :).
you are in–we would not go to another planet without you!
Sure. But I have dibs on the astronaut ice cream. I love that stuff.
is it chocolate?
LMAO!!
Neapolitan.
a good choice–with something that pleases all
Bagpipes…
part of bagpipes–went out with a guy once (and only once) who played the bagpipes–but he was always in the bag when he did–ha ha
Hahahaha
They’re bagpipes. Have a great long weekend.
Thanks Edith. Hope your weekend is great too :).
I just realised I didn’t respond earlier, my fault, I was distracted by one of my progeny when I should really have been telling you about the two drones and cords from a set of bagpipes.
I hope you have a great trip and get to spend some time sitting in the adirondack chair you taught me about the last time you visited.
You’ve never sat in an Adirondack chair?
no he has Big Ben chairs
I have but Cindy taught me that’s what they were actually called
can you get any more specific Mr Smarty-Pants?
Umm they’re black?
like who else really knew what they were called?
ok I’ll confess I used google for the anatomy, http://www.bagpipejourney.com/articles/bagpipes_anatomy.shtml
ha ha ha – you are adorable
Hahahaha – Bunny, you crack me up 🙂
Even I know its bag pipes 😀
what do you mean even you know–aren’t you the one that gets most of these right?
Only because I have A LOT of useless knowledge rattling around in my head 😉
useless information is good- makes you interesting at dinner parties
Be careful Jeff, I think LouAnn is hitting on you LOL!!
no no no — I am a happily married woman–left those days behind 33 years ago
Hahaha – calm down girl. I was just teasing :).
It also makes me a desirable team-mate for Trivial Pursuit 😉
it most certainly would–I make a very undesirable team mate for Trivial Pursuit unless it is about books
Even though I know it’s bagpipes, I was hoping it was the legs of some ancient tripod.
Maybe it is and everyone else is wrong :).
Upon seeing this photo in the reader the fist thing that came to mind was bagpipes (tenor drones, are they called?)
Bagpipes!
BAGPIPES!!! Awh man, I’m so annoyed I was late to the party….I wanted to win this one! 😦 Ohh well.
i say a whole lot of bags of pipes!!!!!
It’s official. You guys are just getting too smart for me :). Every single one of you got it right, and I must add that this was one of the most entertaining weeks of all. Thanks for all the fun.
hey we had to make your vacation worthwhile
Thanks pumpkin 🙂
Pumpkin?
