Happy, happy, happy :). That will be me at 3pm today because I will be starting a week’s holidays. Yayyyyy me!!! Now unfortunately, Mike is too busy at work to take time off right now, and both of the boys will be working as well, so I guess I will be alone for my holidays, but that’s ok.
I’m not one of those people who always feels that every moment of every day must be filled with constant activity on one’s holidays. Yes, family trips are great, but I am also perfectly comfortable with time alone. Mike will be off on Monday for the Civic Holiday so we will do something together, but Tuesday through Friday will be filled to the brim with Cindy time :). I am going to do my best to ignore my house and just relax as much as I can, obviously outside if the weather co-operates. I might even spend a day enjoying some retail therapy because I need to start picking up supplies for Bryan’s return to college, and maybe I will find some awesome sales for myself at the same time.
Whatever I end up doing, it will be much better than being at work, that’s for sure! Have a great weekend everyone, but before you enter your own relaxation mode, it’s time to spark up those neurons once again and take a guess at the mystery photo. Ok, ready, set, go…..
If you go to the beach on the weekend you can have a sandy Cindy Sunday.
As for your picture, the first thing that popped into my head was a violin. The second was a music stand. I don’t believe either one is right, but maybe you can tell that we watched a documentary about Yascha Heifetz last night.
Sandy Cindy Sunday – I like that 🙂
It was either that or point out that if you got a job at a bank and grew a few inches you’d be the office’s taller teller Taylor.
I don’t need to grow a few inches – I’m already tall enough at 5’10” :).
Okay, my first comment disappeared. Let’s see what did I say: Almost a whole week for just you time and no work. Heaven. I want to do that. As for my guess, I need more people to pop in so I can cheat. I have no idea. Unless you count some metal on a wood desk.
Sorry I was late and I’m pretty sure it is plastic not metal.
You know, I almost went with plastic that looked like metal, Should have.
It’s the male part of a plastic clip. Enjoy your holibobs
Now you tell me!
sorry, you should have waited, you know I can’t stay away too long
I know, I know. Patience has never been my virtue.
Sounds like a good week ahead. I’m hoping for good weathe ethos long weekend as well. Enjoy! Ok this is probably wrong but I’m going to st it’s the back of an upside down chair.
Its the end portion of a quick clip (plastic) … now go on holiday…
Sorry if I don’t respond much. Happy, happy, happy has disappeared. I’m at the hospital with hubby. He put his back out and couldn’t get out of bed this morning :(.
Oh no! I hope he feels better soon.
Uh Oh! A vacation is in order for both of you! I hope Mikey feels better soon. I’m so sorry……. Luv, Dor 😦
oh, the poor man, I can empathise with having a rubbish back
you too. I wrecked mine in a car accident when I was 18. I feel for anyone with back pain.
My chiropractor is convinced I was in a car accident as a teenager that I don’t remember. Probably rugby though. It took ten years to become an issue
My doctor is convinced I was hit in the head a lot, but that’s a different matter. I’ve never played rugby, but from what I’ve seen, that’s probably the cause of you back issue. I played a lot of sports when i was little an my right knee will never be the same. I’ve injured it so many times I can’t remember everything I’ve done to it.
My left knee is my dickie one, my biggest problem with my back issues isn’t actually back pain but if I get twinges it can cramp and then lead to migraines. Sigh I guess I’m getting old.
Update – Mikey got really good drugs at the hospital, and he is actually able to walk around a bit tonight. Hopefully a weekend of rest will make him good as new :). Thanks for caring!
Drugs are good
Yes, he would definitely agree with you right now :).
something black against a light background–so sorry about your husband’s back–and I was planning a trip to the casino with you!
He says he’s all better – he’s up for it LOL!! Ya, right – this from the guy who needs to use crutches to get up from the couch :).
ha ha
Maybe you will have company for part of your holiday now hubby has put out his back! Although I’m not sure looking after a hurt hubby is much of a vacay! My guess: The thing you put inside shoes to hold their shape & stretch them a little if needed. Happy Long weekend Cindy!
Gonna kick him out on Tuesday morning do or die!! No, I’m just kidding – I wish he could have taken holidays next week too, but having alone time will be nice too :).
Sounds like bliss Cindy! I totally agree with your mentality that you don’t have to go on outing everyday to make it worthwhile, I think us bookworms know far too well that alone time with our favourite characters can be just as awesome. 🙂 I hope you enjoy yourself!
I have to admit I’m pretty stumped by this photo. For some reason it looks to me like you’d press a thing at the top and the two sides would spring out….but I have no idea what that is, or even if it makes sense, LOL. Ooooh unless it’s one of those things you put in your boots that helps stand them up correctly and keep them a good shape while they are in your cupboard…ohh what are they called! Urmm, boot shapers or something?
Anyhoooows, I’m probs completely on the wrong track so I’ll shut up now. 😀
Don’t have a clue what the photo represents but that doesn’t matter…. I like it very much as an abstract.
Piece-O-Cake! It’s the male side of a quick release buckle. Oh say like on a backpack or camera bag. Which being on vacation all by your lonesome you should be able to take full advantage of. 😀
Do you have an antique treadle sewing machine? Enjoy your staycay!
how are you guys doing? thinking of you……….(((hugs)))
Awww thanks :). We were at the hospital for about 4 hours because poor Mikey passed out from the pain. That’s the worst he has ever had it, but once they got the heavy duty pain meds into him, it finally started to ease up a bit. He’s home now and still suffering, but at least he can actually walk now, so that’s a lot better than this morning when I thought I was going to have to call an ambulance. Thank goodness for small town hospitals though because we went to Markdale, and they took him right in. Fantastic nurses and doctor :). At least this will force him to relax for a few days because he has been super busy at work this summer.
I guess sometimes things like that have to happen to make us slow down–tell him to take it easy and eat some chocolate cake!
The heck with him – I’m going to eat the chocolate cake LOL!!
Good morning everyone!! The sun is out and Mikey is high on his drugs so the pain is bearable. It should be an ok day :). As for the mystery photo, quite a few of you got it right, but Jeff Sinon described it perfectly: “It’s the male side of a quick release buckle. Oh say like on a backpack or camera bag”. Jeff, you might be interested to know that it is for my new camera belt so that I can attach my Capture Camera Clip to it and hang my camera from my waist if I don’t want my backpack on :). Great job everyone and have a fantastic weekend!
Poor Mikey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope he’s feeling better and has less pain…………I hope you enjoy lots of “Cindy” and that the weeks moves VERY slowly!! xo
So far so good. Mikey is getting better, a little bit every day, and I sat outside and read a whole book this afternoon. I just need the weather to co-operate, and this week should be perfect :). Thanks for your concern my friend.
🙂 Just so glad he’s getting better…:)
