The mystery of the unknown visitor has not yet been solved, but I couldn’t wait any longer to start posting photos from the wedding.
Having two boys and living an hour away from any photography studio made it pretty much impossible to ever get a family photo done through the years. By the time the kids were dressed up and driven an hour to a Walmart or Sears studio, their patience lasted about 5 minutes. They wanted to play not sit still for a photographer.
So, when we had a few minutes to spare before the wedding ceremony began and a beautiful background of sailboats on the water, I jumped at the opportunity and quickly grabbed my brother to play impromptu photographer. When kids get to be this age, it’s difficult to get everyone together at the same time, and we were lucky enough to have Bryan’s girlfriend, Cayley, with us as well. I was hoping for a nice picture, but I was totally ecstatic when I saw how good this one turned out. You know how it is – there is always one person not smiling or looking away from the camera or with their eyes closed. I don’t think this shot could have been much more perfect, and it is definitely going to be enlarged, framed, and put up somewhere prominent in our house. Yes, I’m a happy mommy :).
Awwwwwwwww….WONDERFUL!!!!!!!
Thanks :). I just love it!!
what a beautiful “pic” of your family Cindy.
OMG!!!! It’s you isn’t it? You’re the mystery visitor!! I wasn’t even considering you because the note just gave me the impression that it was the first time that the person had seen our house, and you, of course, have been to our house numerous times. Am I right? Was it you????
Gorgeous family, and photo! I’d be proud too! 🙂
Aww, thank you so much 🙂
🙂
Gorgeous family – I would be chuffed with a photo like this as well!!! & I love the mystery visitor… very creative and sweet!!! 🙂 **
Thanks my friend and thanks for the new word “chuffed” – I love it! I think I will start using that one :). By the way, I think I might have figured out the mystery visitor!! I will keep everyone posted.
Haha – don’t you guys use “chuffed”? 😀 Funny!!! I gathered that you have a pretty good idea who the visitor is… 😉 **
Nope – never heard of “chuffed” before, but I really like it :). As for the visitor, I have hit her up about it and am now waiting to hear back! I hope I’m right this time because it has been driving me crazy LOL!
Very nice! But your missing the Best Part Of Your Family! Me
Darn it!! Now that I think about it, we never got any shots of you and I :(. Bummer!
Guess when I have to Take Such A Good Picture I Can’t Be In It!
Very true :). It is a wonderful shot!
Oh I love this – the beautiful people…… 🙂
Well aren’t you sweet ♥. Thanks Dor :).
a shot that mothers dream of — just beautiful — I think you have solved your mystery btw
Yes, you are so right. I have been dreaming of having a photo like this for years! And yes, I think I have solved the mystery too. I just need her to ‘fess up :).
let us know — as the former prime suspect I am curious
I can understand that. You need your name officially cleared don’t you? LOL!
Beautiful Family 🙂
Thanks Edith 🙂
Lovely shot (and I know what you mean about getting everyone to smile at the same time).
This will make a stunning framed picture to hang.
Thanks and I think so too :).
Lovely shot, you look so proud.
Thanks Bunny, and yes, I am very proud!!
How wonderful. And just so you know, I’m usually the one who messes up the photos. I can’t smile and keep my eyes open at the same time. Physically impossible for me.
So, what do you do? Close your eyes or frown? LOL!!! Glad you liked my family pic :).
Close my eyes, spread my arms out, and look like I’m ski jumping–it’s quite odd really.
I’m picturing it and I’m laughing out loud!!!
But of course I’m laughing with you, not at you :).
Oh if we meet up in England, you’ll get to see it firsthand.
Not if we meet up, when we meet up 🙂
heehee, i cannot lie, it was I !!!!! it’s always the quit ones don’t you know?
Wow, you really did a number on me Irene :). I briefly considered you right at the beginning, but then the note gave me the impression that the person was seeing my house for the first time, and you, of course, have been to my house many times. And the way you wrote the note, it sounded 100% exactly like my blogging friend, LouAnn. Everyone was convinced it was her! You two should get together – you have the exact same sense of humour :). Well, anyway, thank you from the bottom of my heart. That was a very special thing for you to do, and it really made my day!! You are a sweetheart and have made my blog a great deal of fun this week. You should definitely start a blog yourself. Just imagine all the fun you could have joining in with all of my crazy friends. You could post pics of your stunning garden and your gorgeous grandchildren.
Ok everyone, it’s official. The case of the mystery visitor has been solved!!! I figured it out last night when she commented on my family photo post and used the word “pic” in quotation marks. The mystery visitor was my good friend, Irene, from right here in good old Dundalk. See my comment above where I thanked her and told her she should really get together with LouAnn because they obviously have identical personalities and the same sense of humour :). Phew!! I’m glad that’s solve because it was driving me crazy! It was a lot of fun for everyone though wasn’t it? Thanks again Irene :).
and Mommy should be very happy… this is a wonderful photo… brilliant…
Thanks Bulldog :). I can’t wait to get it framed and up on a wall!!
Awwwh I love this, and you look really beautiful Cindy!
I totally know what you mean about the family photos, there’s is always one person that closes their eyes, LOL.
Me beautiful?!?! Well, aren’t you a sweetheart. Thanks Becky :). I don’t often like myself in photos, but I am quite happy with this one LOL.
Beautiful pic Cindy! It’s great when you can actually get a good pic & have the lovely weather to take it.
Thanks :). It was actually threatening rain all day and even sprinkled a little on the bride and groom when they were having photos done after the ceremony, but they will probably turn out fantastic because there was no sun to make everyone squint. A white wedding dress against a cloudy sky is actually better than with the sun glaring on it. I am just thrilled that we were able to get this family shot – it has been a long, long time :).
Beautiful!!!!
Thanks!!!! 🙂
