Mystery Photo #71

Happy Easter long weekend everyone :)!!!  I am so excited I can hardly contain myself.  Not only is Bryan home from college for Easter, but I have four, count ’em, four whole days off of work.  Yahoooooooo!!  One of the benefits of working in a law office is that we follow the court holidays, so I get Good Friday and Easter Monday off.  We are having a big turkey dinner (diet be damned!!) on Saturday so that Bryan can spend Easter Sunday with his girlfriend and her family, and Cayley will join us on Saturday.  So, not only do have all of my family home, but I also get girl time!!!  The rest of the time I am going to R-E-L-A-X! I hope that all of you can enjoy some wonderful relaxation and family time this weekend too, and may the Easter Bunny brings you an abundance of chocolate :).

Now, let’s get to the second most important thing after Easter chocolate – the Mystery Photo!  Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, I think I have a really good one this week.  What I mean by that is that I think certain people are going to be complaining very soon LOL!!  You never know though – the joke might be on me this time :).  Come on everyone – make me eat my words.  I want lots of awesome guesses this week and tons of laughs!

P.S.  I’m not sure if Edith Levy saw my message to her last week or not, but Edith you were the winner of the mystery photo last week and the only one to get it right.  Congrats!!

  1. I’m still in Wales, but couldn’t stay away. It’s obviously somebody of expansion joint. Possibly on a kids climbing frame or similar, saying that the colouring is quite militaristic so it could be a bit of a ship.

  2. It is indeed our fifth anniversary trip, there are many many pictures to come but there are a few instagram teasers already up on Facebook.

Some sort of fancy gate lock?

    • Welcome to my blog Victoria :). I don’t think I’ve seen you here before, so I thought I’d better let you know that although I saw your comment, I can’t reveal the answer until tomorrow. There are people from many different time zones who check out the mystery photo, so I have to wait until everyone has taken their guesses. Check back tomorrow for the big reveal!!

  4. Oh yeah, rub it in – Edith was the only one to get it right–nice, and it is Easter weekend and all. Well, I know what this is but I am not telling as I do not want anyone to cheat and read my comment and then pretend that they know what it is too. But, my dear Ms. Loony, if you do not return it to me soon–I will not be able to make one of my fine recipes handed down to me from generations past for Easter dinner – it is not obviously an expansion joint — it is what I use to make my fabulous mashed potatoes. As we all know, domesticity is not high on my list–so I use this instead of the usual beaters or potato masher.
Nice to have four days off–all the more time to torture us. My son is home from college too–and I have stocked up on chocolate.

Congrats on your son coming home…your four days off!!!
Happy Easter :)!! Eat some chocolate for me…:) 😉 🙂

  8. Have a great Easter and a wonderful long weekend. I’m stumped…probably because my brain is in long weekend mode 🙂

It’s another not-too-gentle reminder that Spring is on everyone’s mind and you went out of your way to find the biggest honker you could find just so you could tease us with it.

What ever it is you broke it in the middle…

    I’m stumped again!

Hubby says its a Heat Sink! I thought it was part of a soldering iron.

  13. Ok, I have to admit it – this was a really, really hard one, and I was pretty sure nobody would get it right. However, I thought it was a pretty cool pic, and I thought it might be fun to see what your imaginations came up witht. We had: expansion joint on a kids climbing frame, gate lock, a potato masher (which LouAnn is very insistent I return because she needs it to make her potatoes for Easter dinner), curling iron, a big honker (huh Gary???), a heat sink, and a soldering iron. Now that is one amazing variety of answers, but unfortunately none of them are correct!

It is actually the handle on an outdoor BBQ that we saw at a Welcome Centre somewhere in Virginia on our recent trip south. If you look closely at the right hand side of the photo, you can see where it can be moved down from the upper notch to the lower notch to bring the grill closer to the heat. I know, strange handle right? Anyway, don’t hate on me too much – just think of all the exercise your brain got. It’s good for you :).

  14. Seriously, Ms Loony, seriously?

  15. Sigh. I never know what anybody’s mystery photos are. I’m not that clever and apparently I don’t get out as much as I like to think I do (grin). I just look at the photos and like them. Happy Easter to you and your family. Enjoy your time off!
