The sun rises and sets with him

I have received many emails in the past showing people who have made creative photos where it appears that someone is holding up the moon or the sun.  I have always wanted to try it myself but have never really had the right opportunity.  Well, this morning that all changed, and I am so excited to share this with you!!! 🙂

This morning, as we have done pretty much every day while in South Carolina, we were out on the beach at the crack of dawn photographing the sunrise and enjoying a wonderfully peaceful walk on the beach, breathing in the fresh sea air and searching for treasures washed in with the tide.  I simply can’t get enough of it!  After rising above the horizon, the sun became a huge glowing ball in the sky, and Mike suggested that we try something creative.  As he stood with his back to the ocean and his hand up in the air, I guided him with directions so that his hand would appear to be holding up the sun.  Tonight when I uploaded my photos, I was ecstatic when I saw how well this shot turned out.  I hope you enjoy it too.

This photo is truly special – another one that should be framed for your walls. Everything just glows, including Mikey. 🙂

    • OMG, that is too funny. We were on the beach all day today for our last day, and we both got a bit of a sunburn. I glanced across the room at him tonight and being a smart ass said, “honey you are just positively glowing tonight”. Then I read your comment and I started laughing :). I’m glad you thought this photo was so special because I was really excited when I saw how well it turned out. Thanks!

Those kinds of photos are always fun, and you made a very god version of holding the sun. The illusion is well done, it really looks like he is holding on to a miniature sun. Somehow you have managed to make it seems like the hand is stretching behind the sun as it would have done if it really had a sphere in its hand. I like this picture.

    • Thanks! It was a lot of fun, and we had to be really patient. I kept telling him, “ok, up a little, now in, no that’s too far, out a little, ok now down a bit” LOL!! It took a few tries, but it was totally worth it.
