I have received many emails in the past showing people who have made creative photos where it appears that someone is holding up the moon or the sun. I have always wanted to try it myself but have never really had the right opportunity. Well, this morning that all changed, and I am so excited to share this with you!!! 🙂
This morning, as we have done pretty much every day while in South Carolina, we were out on the beach at the crack of dawn photographing the sunrise and enjoying a wonderfully peaceful walk on the beach, breathing in the fresh sea air and searching for treasures washed in with the tide. I simply can’t get enough of it! After rising above the horizon, the sun became a huge glowing ball in the sky, and Mike suggested that we try something creative. As he stood with his back to the ocean and his hand up in the air, I guided him with directions so that his hand would appear to be holding up the sun. Tonight when I uploaded my photos, I was ecstatic when I saw how well this shot turned out. I hope you enjoy it too.
and he hangs the moon for you too
Yup :). He is amazing – you should see all the shopping that he let me do while down here in South Carolina. Wahooo!!!!
I am size 8, and I like the colour burnt orange in case you were looking for a dress for me (though I think size 8 in the States is big)
Size 8?!? You’re tiny!! If only I had seen this comment when I was at the outlet mall. They had a place called The Dress Barn, and all the dresses were around $40! Unfortunately, we are on our way home now :(.
And the backlit gulls are a nice touch, too–good job, you guys!
Thanks Gary! I was hoping someone would notice the birdies too :).
Love it Cindy!
Thanks Edith 🙂
You have married a super hero!!
He sure thinks so LOL!!!! No, he is a great guy :).
This photo is truly special – another one that should be framed for your walls. Everything just glows, including Mikey. 🙂
OMG, that is too funny. We were on the beach all day today for our last day, and we both got a bit of a sunburn. I glanced across the room at him tonight and being a smart ass said, “honey you are just positively glowing tonight”. Then I read your comment and I started laughing :). I’m glad you thought this photo was so special because I was really excited when I saw how well it turned out. Thanks!
This turned out great Cindy!!! Fantastic!! 🙂 **
Thanks! It was fun to do :).
This was a great photo.. tried it myself a few times with little to no success….
This was a first success for me – keep trying! And thanks Bulldog :).
He’s got the whole world in his hands!
Yes, it makes him look really important doesn’t it? 🙂
Photo came out really well.
Thanks Colline 🙂
LOL…I love it. Can he make sure the sun rises in London?
I nice sunny day is on order for you my friend :).
Wow that’s amazing!!!! I wanna try it! 😀
You should!! It was so much fun. I’ve seen people do it with full moon shots too, and some of them were incredibly creative!!
Those kinds of photos are always fun, and you made a very god version of holding the sun. The illusion is well done, it really looks like he is holding on to a miniature sun. Somehow you have managed to make it seems like the hand is stretching behind the sun as it would have done if it really had a sphere in its hand. I like this picture.
Thanks! It was a lot of fun, and we had to be really patient. I kept telling him, “ok, up a little, now in, no that’s too far, out a little, ok now down a bit” LOL!! It took a few tries, but it was totally worth it.
