Christmas cards are in the mail, shopping is done, and wrapping is started. Oh ya!! We still have to decorate and put the Christmas tree up, but since we get a real tree we won’t even consider that until mid month.
So, now I can get back to my blog. Remember that foggy day where I kept stopping at the side of the highway to capture the eerie effect of the fog? I knew I was getting some pretty good shots, but it wasn’t until I reached work and was reviewing my photos that I realized I had captured more than just the fog. Shots taken looking along a small stream with the fog in the background also revealed a beautiful reflection of clouds in the water. I love surprises like this, don’t you?
Great photos Cindy! I love finding surprises like this in my photos. I’m usually so focused on the composition that I don’t see these little treats until I upload them.
Thanks Jeff :). For me, it’s not only the composition but also trying to figure out what settings to use that occupies my mind because I’m still learning. It’s all worth it though when you find surprises later on!!
Ohh wow I love these!!! I love the way the river leads the eye. Your photo’s just get better and better! 😀
Becky, you just made my day!!! You are so good for my ego :). Don’t you just want to follow the stream and find out where it ends? Maybe there is another falling down old house back in those tree that I need to explore :).
Haha I’m glad. 🙂 I definitely do! It makes me want to come up with a whole story just around the stream, it almost has something slightly supernatural/fantasy about it!
Ooooh, the fantasy genre – my favourite!!!
It is such a wonderful reward to find things you didn’t consciously know were there at the time–although they were very likely a part of the whole experience that drew you to it and urged you to have a closer look. And what fun to go back and have a new look at past photos. Jeff Sinon was the first to comment on this new post of yours, and I’m surprised that he didn’t mention his “Hidden Treasures” series, which highlight just this delight. Well seen, Cindy!
Thanks Gary :). I like that – how the subconscious draws us to a scene, but we don’t really notice things until afterwards. I think that’s very true :).
Awesome! Sky and water meet and you were there. 🙂
Yes, I was so glad I decided to stop that day. It’s funny, sometimes I almost chicken out because I’m self-conscious of people watching me as they drive by, but I’m learning not to care what they think LOL!!
Love the way the clouds showed up in the water! Great pics.
Me too!! Thanks so much :).
Wowee stunning
Thank you :). I’m glad you liked them!!
Beautiful young lady. I was wondering if you would like to provide a few photos for people to enjoy the night of my virtual party on the 15th–just leave a comment that night with some Christmas pics if you want with a link to your site–I know, I know, I am asking a lot–a costume, an appetizer, a favourite Christmas carol or song for the band to play (I just added that) and photos! You don’t have to do it–but you are so talented that some of the people who visit me may not know about you–I love your blog. Even the hard mystery photos–though I was thrilled to guess it last week!
Look at you buttering me up :)!! I love it! Of course I can provide some Christmasy pictures. I don’t think I can put them in a comment though can I? If you know of a way, please let me know. Otherwise, maybe I will do a blog that day with some Christmas pictures and then post the link to my blog.
that is what I meant but did not say because I am stupid–I look forward to your link–and I am not buttering you up–you are a great photographer and put so much thought and care into it (now that is buttering you up!)
You are not stupid – you are one of the smartest people I know :). That is counter-buttering! LMAO!!
Ah yes, I do!!! 🙂 How delightful.
Thank you – glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Oh wow – so beautiful!
Thanks 🙂
The reflection of the clouds…just beautiful 🙂
I know – I was so excited when I realized that I captured it :). Thanks Suzanne!
amazing! Really! I was attracted to your blog!!!
Thank you so much 🙂
Beautiful reflection!
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for visiting 😃.
Um, did you have to rub it in that you are nearly done with all your holiday prep. Can you write 20 Christmas cards for us please. I have mine done, but someone else is slacking. Actually how’s your hubby’s handwriting–messy and impossible to read I’m hoping
Nice photos miss organized
Don’t hate me cause I’m organized!!! LOL :). You’re jealous because I’m done my holiday prep and I’m jealous because you got to go to Prague. I think you got the better end of the deal my friend LOL! Don’t worry – I will still love you even if my Christmas card doesn’t arrive on time, and you definitely don’t want my hubby to help with your cards because his handwriting is horrendous!! Would you like me to send a whip to start cracking around there?? 🙂
I need horrendous handwriting to mimic the better half’s. I would write them, but the family would know. A whip–I’ll poke my eye out!
You are too funny – you always start off my day with a laugh!! Oh by the way, I have a reallllllyyyyy good idea for the mystery photo tomorrow. Mwah ha ha!!!
It better be easy. It’s the holidays, a time to be nice!
Ooooh, aren’t we demanding today?? LOL!!
Wonderful shots Cindy, the first one is amazing !
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed them :).
