Since everyone seemed to enjoy my photos of Old Baldy yesterday, I decided to show you a couple of pictures of the view from the top from a couple of years ago. I try to go there every year in the Fall to capture the colours, but some years are better than others. I’m crossing my fingers that this year is one of the better years.
I was doing a little bit of Googling this morning and read that cool nights and sunny days in early Autumn are what help to produce the beautiful Fall colours. Well, it seems like Mother Nature has been trying to make up for the overly dry summer by giving us a lot of rain so far in September, so I’m a little worried that the colours may not be at their best this year, but I guess we will just have to wait and see in the coming days. Cross your fingers!!
all the pics are great–but the first one looks like a picture postcard!
Wow, thank you so much – I really appreciate that :). It is a gorgeous place where I could just sit for hours breathing in the fresh air and appreciating that I live in such a beautiful country :).
we do, don’t we?
🙂
Wow! Are you a rock climber (among all your other talents)? Or did you have a tiny camera attached to the nearest eagle? Incredible shots. 🙂
No, I am definitely not a rock climber!! I was just standing on the edge of a cliff shaking in my boots LOL!! It was places like this that made me break down and buy a backpack camera bag, so that my arms are free to catch me when I stumble and fall. Thanks Dor – I’m glad you liked them :).
The first one is absolutely spectacular, Cindy. I am keeping my fingers crossed, as I’m going north in just three days too, and I’m hoping there will still be some prime color left. Can’t wait!
Thank you so much Gary :). I am just itching to get out with my camera, but it’s pouring rain again here today. It’s so frustrating! I hope you have better luck – I will keep my fingers crossed for you :).
I really love that first one with the barn all nestled in amongst the glorious color…I hope the rain doesn’t wash away the color for you this year…I have crossed my fingers for you 🙂
Thanks Suzanne :). Me too!
The first one is my absolute favorite! The barn gives everything perspective.
It seems like photo #1 is the prize winner of the day :). I’m glad everyone enjoyed it so much!
Great shots Cindy, the first is definitely the winner for me as well. I am so looking forward to fall!!!
Thanks Jeff! I’m looking forward to Fall for the potential photography opportunities, but I am dreading the changeover to cold weather :(.
Great photos and fingers crossed! We got a lot of rain yesterday and are supposed to get more this week, which is good. It’s been so dry here.
Thanks :). I know we needed the rain too, but it’s kind of depressing to switch over to the cold weather and have rain along with it. Yuck! Mike and Daniel are both sick with colds now, but I am determined to stay healthy :).
Wonderful shots here Cindy. I can’t wait for the fall colors this year.
Thanks Steve 🙂
Ah…stunning! 🙂
Thank you :). It is a beautiful place!!
