Dreaming

Whenever we drive to or from Toronto, we usually pass Pearson International Airport, and I often find myself dreaming as I watch the planes taking off and landing.  When I returned from my trip to England and The Netherlands with my son and his high school in 2010, I found that I had caught the travel bug while I was away.  And boy do I have it bad!!

There are so many places that I would love to see – the pyramids of Egypt, the lochs and castles of Scotland, the Great Wall of China, the Aztec ruins of Mexico, the volcanoes of Hawaii, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, the mountains of Switzerland, the Eiffel Tower in France, the Berlin Wall in Germany.  The list goes on and on :).  As our kids were growing up, our travelling was limited to within our own province and a couple of trips down to the USA, but I’m really hoping that Mike and I will be able to do some more extensive travelling in the years to come.

This was a photo that I took as we drove past the airport.  I was literally leaning out the window of a moving vehicle as I snapped shot after shot, and I was very excited by the results!

Nice shot! Whenever I see a plane I want to be on it. Don’t get me wrong, I love my life in London, but there’s always that feeling of finding out more about my options and seeing more. I wish you many happy adventures!

    • Thanks, and I know what you mean. I am happy where I am too, but I have a curious mind, and I have read about so many places that I would love to see in person. When I was preparing for my trip to England and the Netherlands, I wondered how much I would enjoy it because I really am a homebody, but I found that I thrived on it. It was like a very cool adventure, and I can’t wait to do it again!! 🙂

I drive by the airport every time I head to my office and I think the very same thing, where are those people headed? Are they excited? Are they flying for business or pleasure? I love the airport, I really do. Take every opportunity to travel while you can. You never know what tomorrow will hold and I hear so many people who say “when they retire” off they will go However, sometimes the cards life deals will never allow it so again I say do it now!

I am just like that! I love and hate driving past the airport. It makes me edgy and irritated because I want to get on a plane and GO! 🙂 But watch out for my next post, if I can gather the energy to get around to it. (I’m playing catch up again…)
