Drops of Silver

Although the days are still very warm, I’ve noticed a real chill creeping into the air in the evenings and early mornings lately.  As a result, there were two days last week where I walked outside on cool but sunny mornings to find a magical display of nature on my car.  A heavy dew had fallen on the metallic paint leaving the appearance of drops of molten silver. I literally gasped in delight and grabbed my camera.  Again, it was one of those situations where if my neighbours had been looking out their windows, they would have thought the name of my blog was very fitting :).

I would have loved to have spent a lot more time experimenting with these shots, but I am still really happy with what I managed to capture.  They make such abstract photos that I couldn’t even bear to put my copyright symbol on them because it just seemed to spoil the effect.

Oh these drops are really prrreeetty! 🙂 I’ve often wondered what people must think if they were watching me take photographs!

    • I know they think I’m crazy, but I don’t care :). I do what makes me feel happy and fulfilled because life is just too short to worry about what other people think, right? LOL I’m glad you liked my silver drops :).

Well-spotted, Cindy (in both senses of the word, of course), but oh, that number 4!

How right you are in calling them “drops of silver!” They look like the old mercury drops in thermometers that were so fascinating and “mercurial.” Great shots and who cares what people think anyway?

It is great the way the water beads. At least its not ice 🙂

    • Yuckyyyyy, you said the “I” word!!! I like water way better than ice, and I have seen beads of water on my car many times before, but this time was just so spectacular. I think it’s because the beads were just so perfectly formed and so orderly – nothing had disturbed them yet.
