Lone Leaf

How the heck did Monday show up already?  The last time I looked it was still Friday.  I guess that means I had a good weekend right?  Well, I certainly did :).  Yesterday, Mike and I made a spur of the moment decision to go to the CNE, the Canadian National Exhibition, an annual fair in Toronto, Ontario since 1879.  I’ll do a post about that another day, but we got home late last night, and I was so tired after walking around the CNE all day that I just wanted a quick idea for today’s post.

This photo has been begging to be posted for days.  I’ve been so busy showing you what Wright Point Resort looks like that I kept passing over less specific captures from that weekend, but I kept going back to this photo over and over.  I took this while watching Mike fish out on the point.  It’s one of those pictures that appeals to me for multiple reasons – the simplicity of the shot, the contrast between the colourful leaf and the dark background, and the different textures.  This photo just makes me smile!

and me as well… funny how a photo everyone would probably not take can become so beautiful in display… I love this photo…
In another put on your how did Monday arrive and you thought it was Friday… we had a long weekend due to a public holiday and I heard on the radio the announcer say… “you know its not going to be a good week when you realise your Friday is actually Tuesday..” that’s how it felt to me as well. You see the Thursday was the holiday and the Following five days work to him and me felt as though Friday was here again, when in actual fact it was Tuesday…

    • Thank you! That’s the beauty of digital photography – I can take pictures of the strangest things whenever and wherever I want, and sometimes I end up with a real gem. As for the whole Friday thing, I think holidays that fall in the middle of the week should always be pushed to a Friday or a Monday, so that it’s always a long weekend :).

I think there should be a blog post about the early life of this leaf and its ultimate destiny. I think I am getting carried away with this blogging thing. But you do make me smile. 🙂

Simple and nice. Glad you had a good weekend. Football season started in England so my weekend flew by as well. Get some rest. And at least Monday is over!

    • Yayyyy, Monday is over and I’m already looking forward to next weekend. It’s like that old Loverboy song, “Workin’ for the Weekend”, that’s what we do!! Now, I’m curious, seeing as you live in London now, when you say football season, do you mean soccer? I always get confused with that LOL. Whatever the case, I’m glad you had a great weekend!!
