Mystery Photo #39

Happy Friday everyone!!  After a very stressful first week back to work after holidays, I have never needed a weekend more!  My brain cells couldn’t take much more I’ll tell you. Not only was my desk piled high with work, but then the motherboard on our bookkeeper’s computer died and we couldn’t access our company’s calendar or any accounting information.  Then at home my PVR’s hard drive crashed, and I lost the last 5 episodes of the TV show Touch that I hadn’t watched yet :(.  But enough about my brain cells.  How are yours doing?  Have you been exercising them in preparation for this week’s mystery photo?  I sure hope so :).

I think I have a really hard one for you this week, but remember that it’s about the difficulty of the picture not the quality of the photo.  So, you will have to forgive me because I cropped such a small section of this photo that it’s not quite as sharp as I would like it to be.

Ok, let’s see what you’ve got.  Ready, set, go……

  2. bulldogsturf says:

No idea at all… looks like a stud of some sort holding a strap…

  3. Hmmm….is it the handle of an old frying pan.

  4. TBM says:

The fossilized pea that kept the princess awake all night…yep, I have no clue.

  5. last week you took a picture of my multi-coloured hair — this week my hair accessory – Cindy I don’t want to have a warrant issued against you – just knock on the door and come in for tea

  6. beckyday6 says:

Is it like, the handle on a metal bucket? The bit where the handle and the bucket meet and it has the screw attaching it?

  7. Maybe a handle for a cooking item?

  8. M & D says:

Is it a strap and a pin holding the dock together up north

  9. Jeff Sinon says:

An oar-lock. The “U” shaped piece attached the the oar. The one with the pin that goes into the other piece on the row boat.

  10. zannyro says:

    A “MilkDud” on a stone 🙂

  11. zelmare says:

A metal strip with rusted nail, holding some kind of wooden structure together? I can’t be much vaguer than that, I’m afraid… 😉

  12. Wow!! I can’t believe it! It is time for all of us to bow down once again to the King of the Mystery Photo, Jeff Sinon. I was 100% sure that nobody would get the mystery photo this week, but I should have known that Jeff would get it since he knows everything about everything to do with the outdoors :). It is, as Jeff described it, an oar-lock, the “U” shaped piece attached to the oar. Great job Jeff and thanks for all of the other answers everyone! It’s always interesting to see where people’s minds go with this challenge, and a few of you had me laughing pretty good this week. 🙂

  13. am having trouble writing this, but Jeff–Jeff–you are so annoying! (lol)

    • Yes, he is isn’t he? LOL I’m just glad that he made his guess fairly late in the day because if he had guessed first thing in the morning, everyone would have jumped on the Jeff band wagon!! So, the rule should be that Jeff can’t guess until everyone else has :).

      • I think you have a plan – He has to wait until there are at least five guesses–and he will know that mine will always be wrong
But if you are stalking me, you seem like a nice girl, truly come on in for some coffee and pastry (I promise it will be store-bought and will not kill you with my non-existent baking skills!)

      • But wait, if we steal his knowledge, you won’t be wrong every week – he will!! LOL By the way, I just realized I haven’t been following you so now I am. You make me laugh and on quickly glancing at older posts on your blog, I realize that we must be kindred spirits – husband and boys in the house here too, and I haven’t figured out any of them either!! 🙂

      • Jeff Sinon says:

Cindy, fortunately I usually see the post at work, but don’t add me guess until I get home. As good as the screen is on my iPhone 4S, the one on my MacBook Pro is bigger. So I’m usually late in answering anyway 😛

    • Jeff Sinon says:

That’s how I roll 😛 If I haven’t annoyed at least one person each and every day I feel lost, incomplete somehow 😀

  14. Tammy says:

He is sneaking a peak into your computer when you aren’t looking. He’s a picture stalker! LOL
