I have always had favourite places to read. Other than the obvious places like my back deck on a hot summer’s day, snuggled in bed on a rainy day, or curled up on the couch on a cold winter’s night, there are other places that only come along now and again. Our trip up north provided me with one of the most amazing spots for reading that I have ever encountered. As you know, I grew up in a sailing family, so anywhere near water is a great spot for reading in my eyes. Add complete and total peace and quiet, pure fresh air, and a great view, and I am in paradise.
Having said this, I think these photos speak for themselves. With my e-reader full of books, I could have stayed there forever!!

Now that I’m back to the craziness of work, I really, really miss that wonderful chair on the point. As I sat there reading, I realized that I could not hear a single sound – it was total and complete silence, and it was wonderful!!
My wife would love that chair!
Yes, she definitely would! It was surprisingly very comfortable for a wooden chair with no cushions :).
I’d have to bring my own cushion. My bony butt doesn’t like flat, hard seats any more.

That sounds great, but I don’t drink much which means I’m a really cheap drunk, so you might have to hold me up as I stumble back up to the cottages so that I don’t trip and do a face plant ok?

Sometimes the comments are more fun than the blog itself aren’t they? I’m glad you enjoyed it!! As for the first part of your comment, I was like a bobble head because I would read and then look out over the water and then read and then look out over the water. It would have been kind of funny to watch me I think :).
Well now you are just being cruel. First you forgot to invite me. Second, you’ve been showing all of these fabulous photos. And now, the dagger in the heart, reading spots in paradise. When does the cruelty end? I need chocolate to recover from this. What did you read?
Oh, I’m sorry :(. I didn’t mean to make you feel bad. Eat lots of chocolate – it will make you feel better :). As for what I was reading, I have to do a review for the second book in a series, the first one of which I reviewed last year, so I decided to re-read the first book to refresh my memory about the plot. It’s an amazing book called “Timeless Conflict”, and the author is Ute Perkins. If you look it up on amazon.com you will see the synopsis and my review.

Yes, those are the same Masons. I have read quite a few books now where they refer to famous people who were part of that organization. In this particular book, it gives quite an interesting twist to the origin and the history of the Masons. It’s not exactly a favourable portrayal of the Masons that’s for sure because in this book they did something horrible way back in history. I enjoy writing reviews – it’s good practice for my writing skills. However, it’s never quite as relaxing a read for me because I like to take notes while I am reading a book I have to review.

It was perfect! I don’t often use terms like this, but I felt a true inner peace while I was sitting there, and I couldn’t stop smiling. It was just like all my stress fell away :).

I know!!! Imagine my cousin and his wife who own the place. It’s hard work, especially in the summertime when they are so busy, but they get to live there all year round :). They sold everything in the city and bought the resort. I don’t think I would ever have the guts to do something like that, but they look so happy.
I would do that in a flash, to have that kind of lifestyle… I think… 😉 Beautiful place.
