Nothing to do with the mystery photo, but I must start off this post by yelling out, “YEAH, WE FINALLY GOT RAIN!!!!”. I can’t even remember the last time we got more than a couple of drops here. It seems that even when there has been some rain in the forecast lately, it just skirts around the town where I live, and we end up with nothing.
I truly have not minded the incredibly hot weather we have been having, but I know that the flowers, lawns, and crops have been suffering immensely, and frankly I’m sick and tired of having to water plants all the time :). Plus, I really like walking barefoot outside in the summertime, but it really hurts to walk on dead grass LOL. The night before last we had one heck of a storm, and the thunder was so intense you could actually feel the house shake. There were even some fires around the area from lightening strikes. So, it seems as if we just go from one extreme to another. Climate change – I think so! The weather has just been too weird lately. But at least my rain barrels are overflowing again, so I don’t have to break the watering restrictions quite so often (oops, did I say that out loud).
Now, on to the mystery photo. Last week I let you off really easy, but this week we are back to working those brain cells :). There have been some real mystery photo experts commenting lately, so I’ll see if I can stump you this week. Ok, ready, set, go…….

We got that wicked thunder storm as well. Ok I think this is the dial/opening latch of an old bank vault door. I thought I’d really go out on a limb for this one 🙂

You see, I told you it was harder this week!! Yayyyyy, I finally got all of you LOL.! Although, if you thought about the photos I have been posting all week, that might have given you a clue :). It is actually the frame inside the top of the roof/dome of the lighthouse in Kincardine, Ontario. I’m just guessing, but I’m wondering if the hole has something to do with the contraption from the old days that would have hung down on chains holding the shutters that rotated to make the light flash. That’s just a guess though. I really enjoyed all of the answers this week. It’s always fun when I read someone’s answer and think, “wow, it really does look like that!”.
And my guess was wrong! 😉
