Sunbathing

Because the weather has been so hot and sunny lately, the first thing that I do when I get home from work is water my flowers.  Yesterday, as I put my hand on the back door to go out onto the deck, I noticed this little guy clinging to the screen.  Actually, he was quite big, and I really wanted to get some pictures, but because our screen door sticks I figured he would take off as soon as I shoved the door open.  He must have been really enjoying that sunshine though because he didn’t move no matter what I did.  I grabbed my camera and shot photo after photo, trying different settings, and he just modelled beautifully for me. Don’t you love when nature cooperates?

Wow! Amazing picture, it’s so clear! I didn’t realise how detailed they were.

    • Thanks Becky! That’s why I was so excited that he stayed there and let me get so close, so I could capture all the detail :). By the way, I’m over 1/3 of the way through my book, and it is amazing!!!!

Ohh great! I’m so glad. 🙂 I hope no one’s been interrupting you. 😉

      • You will love this! My friend at work is reading the book too, and she knew that I had to go to my son’s baseball game last night. So, she kept rubbing it in that she was reading and I wasn’t by texting me what page she was on every few minutes!! Isn’t that mean? I retaliated by sending her a picture of my middle finger. LMAO!!!!

Great picture! I once made a close-up of a grasshopper as well; though that one did look a bit friendlier! It really is down to luck that it doesn’t hop away before you get a decent shot.

I think he looks happy for the company and all the attention. Perhaps you have a “pet” grasshopper now and you can name him too. Awwwww!

Great shot….nothing like a good close up… with or without the new camera?

Nice and clear shot! I was somehow picturing a gecko as I was reading your post, and the grasshopper came as quite a surprise! 🙂
