After three days of cloud pictures, I decided to switch to something living and breathing. This photo was taken back in 2007 before I had a DSLR, and I was actually pleasantly surprised at the quality of the shot (good old Canon cameras!!). As I have been doing a lot lately, I took the original photo and cropped it so that it wasn’t the traditional centred photo of the whole chipmunk’s body and surroundings. I love the colouring of chipmunks, and now with this closer look it’s easy to see the different stripes down his back and the texture of his fur, and you can actually see the little claws on his hands/paws which he uses to hold his food as he stuffs his face. As you can see, he really is stuffing his face!!
I would love to put food out in my backyard to attract birds and little critters like chipmunks and squirrels. However, with the horror stories that my Mom has been telling me about the damage the chipmunks are doing to her garden, I think I might have to reconsider that idea :).
Very cute!!! 🙂 **
He is, isn’t he? 🙂
Wish my Canon would do things like that! He’s a keeper for sure. 🙂
I think your photos are beautiful!! And yes, I wanted to take him home :).
sweet, I love my little canon compact and use it regularly
I try to take my Canon Rebel with me everywhere, but in the event that I forget, I always have my little Canon point and shoot in my purse :).
He’s sooo cute.
I know :). I have always loved chipmunks – they are so adorable!!
Hmmmmmmmm….looks like a relative of one of my little buddies…because of the deer, I can’t plant anything in a garden for them to destroy…the deer get there first !
Oh, I would love to have deer visiting my garden!! Even though I have fields behind my house, I am still in town, so we never see deer close to our house :(. My hubby sees them all the time on the way to work early in the morning though.
Well at least you know they’re out there somewhere…I just spent 15 minutes sitting behind the house, watching a doe who was about 15 feet away from me…she was just licking her back…scratching her head with her hind foot…I didn’t have my camera, but it was a nice peaceful moment 🙂
I would give anything to be that close to a doe. You are so lucky!! 🙂
Yep…lil chippys are everywhere. We have one living in the rock walls of our stream/pond area. If he/she chews through the pump hose there will be trouble.
Oh ya, if I put out food to attract them to our house and they got into my hubby’s vegetable garden, I would be in really big trouble!!! LOL
Oh he’s so sweet! Beautiful photograph. 🙂
Thank you :). I have always had a soft spot for chipmunks!!
Ah…he’s a cutie. I wish I looked that cute when I was stuffing my face. Instead, I get weird looks. Nice photo.
Thanks, and at our dinner table the comment most heard by my youngest son is, “Do you think you can fit any more in there??” LOL
You definitely fooled me, the quality of this shot is staggeringly good! Nice work!!!
Wow, thanks Adam!! You just totally made my day :).
Very very cute!!!
They really are adorable :). Thanks for visiting!!
