Waiting for your return

It’s funny you know.  Some days I know right away which photo I want to post, while other days I really have to think about it.  Today was one of those days where I had to browse through all of my favourite photos until something inspired me.

As I have mentioned before, I live in a rural area but I grew up in the city, so if I drive the back roads to work I am always awed by the beautiful scenery and if I’m lucky wildlife as well.  I have many, many photos of one of Canada’s most well known symbols, the Canada Goose, but I think this one is my favourite.  There are no brilliant colours variations (in fact he blends into the background very well) and it is probably a little bit too centred, but I love how there is just the right amount of sunlight on the goose to clearly reveal his features and the details of his feathers.  And the way he is standing, he just looks so proud!  Now that the snow has arrived, most of the geese have flown South, but I can’t wait to see their beautiful “V” formations return to Ontario in the Spring.
