It’s Remembrance Day in Canada, a day where we remember the men and women who have given their lives to preserve the peace we enjoy today. I, for one, am very grateful to all of the Canadian soldiers past and present. My grandfather fought in WWII, and I have always felt proud of him for having the courage to fight for us. This is a picture of the 2010 Liberation Day Parade in Wageningen, in the Netherlands, that I described in my blog on October 30th. It was the 65th anniversary of VE Day that year as well, and I was there on a school trip with my son, Bryan. It is definitely not the best quality photo (in fact the original is very blurry), but I think it is beautiful! It takes me back and reminds me of the old photos of soldiers saying goodbye to their sweethearts or receiving kisses of thanks from young ladies in towns they had liberated. I thought this picture would be very appropriate for today. Lest we forget….
