There are certain things that I can never have enough pictures of. In fact, you might say that I am a little bit obsessed with taking photos of sunsets, fires, clouds, and full moons. There have been many a night where I have dropped everything, grabbed my tripod and stood outside (warm weather and cold) experimenting with camera settings to strive for the ultimate shot of the man in the moon.
The first few attempts were quite laughable as I drove to the perfect spot only to realize that I couldn’t see the camera controls in the dark. Experience has taught me to pack a flashlight in my camera bag as well as a pad of paper and a pen. As I experimented, I wrote down the settings that seemed to work the best, so that now when I head out to chase the moon, I am prepared. Today’s picture is what I consider my best full moon shot to date. I have other shots that are maybe more interesting because of wispy clouds framing the moon or cloaking it, but this one has the most detail and clarity. Hope you like it too.
